  1. The reason our streets aren't cleared well is our tolerance of shit-poor work and a lackluster work ethic. Nobody's gonna revolt...but maybe we should.
  2. Instead of stocks and bonds, Grow Ops are easily the best return on the dollar. Screw the banks.
  3. Satch probably has some ownership of hordes of pop songs...that nobody ever listened to actively but stuck somewhere in our heads, from a commercial, sports clip, guitar article on television or soundclip somewhere. I've probably ripped off about 50 Satriani songs i've never ever heard, even subconsciously.
  4. Sometimes more family than family. Who doesn't know someone with a pet uncle?
  5. Actually... The first part sets up the atmosphere of what you're complaining about... And the second part defines what you're complaining about. A tax bitch. Same old 'cut before you increase' tax bitch. 5%?? Any solutions to people struggling, or are you just here to vent your frustration in your inability to plan for contingency?
  6. SmoothedShredder for PM.
  7. I'm not. What makes any of us so sure about anything? A key third term in an economic downturn. A middle of the road conservative leader? Do you have any better options right now?
  8. I say get the kid a trampoline/rebounder.
  9. "The Liberals need fresh blood, someone who will unite the party and put Canada first, party second. In my opinion Rae is putting party and personal agendas first by not recognizing the Ignatieff has the majority of the party behind him...yes, it's democracy to have a choice but when the choice is obvious it is a waste of time and money, time & money that can be used to rebuild the party..." If anyone knows where this is going, I do...Charest in 2012. He's on his way to reuniting Quebec as long as he does the job he could have done as PM rather than Kim Campbell (what did she do?) I think I'd vote Liberal if that guy proves himself well in Quebec...depending of course on my riding and the time.
  10. "Yeah, but I know people, family, that are struggling to keep their houses as it is, and this 5% hike will not help them." I know everyone likes to bitch about tax hikes, but I thought you were above that...although I never really got to know you. If anything I expected you to come out with the 'people will be working harder to afford their taxes, and that extra time at work doesn't lend itself to free community festivals' But a 'same old same old' tax bitch? c'mon LR. Maybe you and your friends/family have a reason to get together for potlucks and carpooling. What a great excuse to get closer and save some money.
  11. If I ever need help remembering when my birthday is, i'm sure I can ask Booche.
  12. Too bad Dion didn't cut it. He's the perfect example of why I've never been interested in being PM... ...People that expect other people to understand don't want the job as leader. Too bad most people need to be led. Guys like Dion have strategies to get his horses the cleanest freshest water but don't have the horses that just walk on their own with him...or know where to go on their own. That and the neighbouring ranchers grow some juicy carrots.

the masonic symbolism in the leaded glass at toronto's Old City Hall is awesome.

how is what they're doing and how they're doing it in a public light? I see where you're coming from, but I also don't see Freemasonry as being atheism and agnosticism at all...it's just non-theistic in its heart as it's a non denominational group...but one must believe in a higher power, no? I don't see Freemasonry as a movement. Perhaps this is another example of us only seeing what we want.
  15. Please don't even use the word genius jokingly with me. It's a waste of everyone's time - make some real jokes if you're gonna be funny TB. Smileys don't do it justice. If anything, the crap slurp visual was all I was expecting of anyone - milkshake or cocaine, it don't matter to me...but dear god your poor sinuses. It would be much better if I knew that you were joking TB cause it doesn't always seem like you're anything but serious. I just don't like to mince words and sometimes it's just so tedious to read such seemingly heated expressions of distrust that I forget that our views are somewhat aligned. I'm so glad that I can remember meeting you and that you had this intensely dorky goofy grin on your face cause admittedly our (collective) internet presence sometimes leaves a lot to be desired and explained. It's really just what we feel we are comfortable explaining and if we understand what others might not get to know. Peace and Rice. I wonder how many times people get on here, see i've psted or what i've posted and say 'fuck not that guy again'. I hope it's more than I could imagine. dude you've got a chunk of corn in your moustache.
  16. "I say it, it's hyperbole and redendancy, you say it, YT, it's sublime genius... +1 " no...when you say it it's paragraphs of pissy pinko rants.
  17. eww it's sickening that so much money can be set toward this and not, say, funding foodbanks in Oshawa or St Thomas.
  18. "We've chatted about the religious ideology of social conservatism and you know where I stand on what the motives of this party are. I don't think we'll see anything getting 'rammed down throats'." I don't either and that's what's so ultimitely subversive about it. We suck it up with a straw cause we're suckers being sold a line of bullshit that we don't need.
  19. "My hyperbolous point, my dear friend, is that this coalition WAS working together, and if we are willing to put aside the motivations of a percentage of those who represent extremes in the CPC party, why are we not willing, upon thorough examination, to respect that the Bloc may put away it's seperatist ideologies for a few moments of cooperation. The government declared in the content of the economic update that they were going to put ideological partisanship ahead of what was going to be consensually passable. The multiple other political parties represented in the coalition put aside ideologial differences in order to form, even if that was in the best interest of the parties themselves. The need for continued funding is both obviously self-serving as well as something that serves the needs of those who cannot afford to fund the party they vote for directly, so yes, we collectively pay for the poor to have a voice, that is something I believe is morally defensible. I consider efforts to silence these voices, even serruptitiously through removing their funding, to be reprehensible. I despise despotic rulers and Mr.Harper has moved to make this a one party state. The measures removed after the massive curfuffle were all things "the party feels very strongly about" (Stevie Hizzle). In other words, this party also feels very strongly about removing much of a women's right to move for pay equity through legal means. This is not partisan, it is unethical. And we blindly pray that good old Steve is gonna keep an even keel and pull us out of this mess, or else we're flirting with seccession by supporting the alternative? My posts my be "hyperbole", but don't mistake style for a lack of content." haven't you essentially told us that ad nauseum for the past 6 months or more?
  20. "your posts are riddled with hyperbole. If you're against fear mongering you'd do alot better avoiding using that tactic in your own argument. Maybe provide a solution or two, or example of someone who's actually improving, or trying to improve the horrible situation it appears you are describing." +1

But Skepticism just to be skeptical is about as annoying as anything can be. So what's the deal with hundreds of thousands of atheists not really being atheists, but really being agnostic, and vice versa? Will there be a similar 'atheist awakening' when disbelievers everywhere actually examine themselves and find a nonreligious awakening of sorts? (Atheism is without a specific theistic view or against organized religion, while Agnosticism is in disbelief of a higher power - or Gnosis (a higher power) When you really look at the terms themselves, it seems to have the ability to lose its clout, being so divided yet not being perceived as such. Hmmm...isn't this being mirrored so well in Canadian Politics? Is there a movement to bring agnostics and atheists together in a more public light?
  22. "The promise to support a coalition isn't a win for separatism, it's a win for Quebec. It puts their agenda - wants and needs above the agendas of all of the other provinces. The coalition, dependant on the Blocs support will form policy with the knowledge that they have to cater to Quebec to get it passed. If anything will further alienate the West who already feels alienated for so many reasons, this is it. We have the option to vote for parties that are represented across Canada, we do not have the option to vote for the Bloc." Start an 'Ontario kicks ass' party. It'll get more vites than the marijuana party and might get more seats than the Greens.
  23. that safety net was sustainable - but the rest of the profit structure did nothing to ensure it could support the economy. Retirement costs should really not be villified.
