  1. Some acoustic Fatties would be nice but the night is already booked.
  2. It's been a while (3+ years) since my last Phish show, and I'm stoked at the thought of seeing them in Toronto! Exciting news!! It's also nice to see some excitement on this board! Hal ... apology accepted. Cheers, Mark
  3. It's a city festival rather than a camping festival but it looks pretty cool.
  4. The Forecastle Festival looks pretty cool! http://www.forecastlefest.com/ The Forecastle Festival is excited to announce the initial lineup for its 11th annual three-day music celebration, featuring Grammy Award winners The Black Keys, alongside The String Cheese Incident and The Avett Brothers leading the festival’s rich, eclectic offerings. The event will take place July 12 – 14, 2013 at Louisville’s scenic, award-winning Waterfront Park. In addition to performances at Waterfront Park, the Forecastle Festival will feature late night shows on the historic Belle of Louisville steamboat and other landmark locations throughout downtown Louisville. Jam masters The String Cheese Incident will perform an exclusive, separately ticketed late night show at Louisville’s historic Palace Theater on Saturday, July 13. Weekend passes for Forecastle 2013 will go on sale this Wednesday, March 6 at noon EST at Forecastlefest.com, Ticketmaster.com and all Ticketmaster outlets. 5. I agree ... the All Good lineup is good, but it doesn't have me itchin' to go. I'm still weighing summer holiday music options ... Peace, Mark
  6. Had a great night ... loved the music, the venue, the people. Great energy in the room and on stage! Peace, Mark
  7. In! Looking forward to seeing Trey with this band in Toronto. It's been a while since I've seen Trey or Phish, and I've never been to the Danforth. Stoked!
  8. Thanks for those of you who listed Chris Robinson Brotherhood's Big Moon Ritual. I just gave it a listen for the first time last night. Me likey like!
  9. Ditto. Arrived the same day bradm's did.
  10. Ok, that's pretty freakin' cool! I dug this song the first time I heard it, and the video clip brings back fond memories of that awesome Codetalkers show in Hamilton at PJC! Totally cool that you are bringing Ike Stubblefield to Hamilton. I've never seen him, but man oh man, I'm guessing this guy has got to be good if this band is playing a song dedicated to him! Peace, Mark
  11. Thanks for this thread - some great listening ideas for me here. My only addition to anything that's been mentioned is Jimmy Herring's new release entitled "Subject To Change Without Notice." It's jazzy, it's groovy, it rocks. All instrumental. Very tasty. Peace, Mark
  12. Wow Todd, what a touching story! I don't have any instruments to donate, but please let me/us know when you are ready to accept financial donations to cover the shipping costs. Peace, Mark
  13. Any idea how many tickets went to the Trey presale, and how many are left for the general onsale? I heard second-hand from a friend that half went for the presale. Can anybody confirm? Just curious. Peace, Mark
  14. Was initially trying for 4 but after repeated attempts with no luck I tried for 2 and managed to get 2 on the floor! Looking forward to a fun night!
  15. Cool news!! It must have been!!! Peace, Mark
  16. Confirmed: At 67 years young, Neil Young still rocks. Big time. I enjoyed his whole set, but my personal highlights from the night were Walk Like a Giant and Twisted Road. I'm glad I was familiar with his new material as I think it upped the experience for me. And last night once again confirmed why Neil is often referred to as the "godfather of grunge." Long may you run Neil. Peace, Mark
  17. Agreed, they do an excellent job of "covering" the songs while making it sound fresh. I really enjoyed the Friday night show at the Town Ballroom in Buffalo. Peace, Mark
  18. What a killer show this was! Victor Wooten and his band blew my mind. In addition to stellar musicianship and sweet vocals, it was filled with positive energy and was fun to watch. I hope he tours with this group again in the future. And Jimmy Herring was fantastic as well ... if you like heavy instrumental jammy jazz with awesome musicianship. Not as accessible for some as Victor's set but wow ... incredible musicianship. I'm also really enjoying his new record. What a breath of fresh air this show was! Peace, Mark
  19. I echo the comments from above, and am looking forward to seeing/hearing Neil Young & Crazy Horse play some of this material live. Peace, Mark
  20. I've had great luck with Wind Mobile. I signed up last year around Christmas time for one of their holiday miracle plans for $40 per month which pretty much covers everything. My 15 year old son is on the same plan with no problems. And he texts a lot! At the time a similar plan with Telus was about $20 more per month. The key is that I am in a Wind zone most of the time (Kitchener and the other cities I visit) so I rarely pay extras. If I ever am outside of a Wind zone I turn off my data and only rely on my phone and text, which is still fairly cheap per text or per minute. It also works well in the USA and I find my calling or text rates in the USA are much cheaper than if I was with Telus. The Wind network does go down more often than with Telus but then I am automatically switched to another carrier, and I haven't noticed that I've been dinged for extra charges because of this. I'm a big fan of Wind Mobile but again, only if in a Wind zone most of the time. And I primarily use my phone for texting and talking rather than for accessing the Internet. But it seems to work fine when I do access the net. Peace, Mark
  21. Agreed ... it's nice to see that their are still lots of heads around this part of the world willing to hit up a live show. I thought there was a strong possibility that this show would be sparsely attended, and I'm glad I'm wrong! I wish I could be there, but will get my fix in Buffalo the following two nights. Peace, Mark
  22. Reviews? I'm thinking the silence means it must have been a raging show and everybody who went is too tired to comment!
  23. Darn! Right on Mike - it's been a while! Cheers, Mark
