  2. Wi!!y, you are too kind, my friend!

Very much looking forward to a rip-roaring good time upstairs at the Lanc.

Harvard Mouse is going to try out some new material I think (originals and covers) in addition to some songs that people have heard before. We'll know better after tomorrow night's practice. Oh yes, and we're going to jam!

I get to play, and then I get to dance and groove while one of my all-time favourite bands fills the room with songs and jams that get my limbs twirling and my mind whirling.

And all of this while surrounded by a bunch of wonderful friends ... the thought warms my heart and soul on this cold winter night.

    Peace, Mark

  3. OK, the word is out, people are coming, it's going to be another raging good time up at the Lanc!

    Directions from the 401:

    - exit onto Highway 8 to Kitchener/Waterloo

    - exit onto Highway 85 to Waterloo

    - take the Bridgeport Road exit and turn left onto Bridgeport Road

    - turn left onto Lancaster Street

    - look for The Lancaster Tavern ("The Lanc") on the right - there is a boat docked in the air - you'll see it!

    - go in the front door and take the stairs immediately to your left that lead to the upstairs room

    Peace, Mark

  4. The place was packed, great vibe at the show, lots of smiling faces and dancing bodies, didn't get there until after Mark Wilson's set (sorry I missed it but couldn't be helped) and had to wait outside for some people to leave before we could get in, the Caution Jam boys tore it up, particularly Mark C. on guitar as he was obviously having a blast on his birthday.

Glad I made it to Brantford for the show!!!

    Peace, Mark

  5. "aren't you up past your bedtime Mr. Tonin?"

:: ;) :: Got home from the Boathouse at a decent hour last night, decided to check my email and the board one last time before bed, and got sucked into the world of cyberspace ... I think I'm going to need a nap after school today!!!

Esau, I'll talk to Tungsten about the board and have him contact you ... I know he's been away this week but I think he's back this weekend at some point. He's doing sound for the show. And Harvard Mouse would love a sweet recording of their set if you're into it.

    Peace, Mark

  6. I am really excited about this show ... the last time that the Fatties were in Kitchener at the Lanc the place was packed with smiling faces and dancing bodies!

    Fri. Jan. 21

    upstairs at the Lancaster Tavern

    574 Lancaster St. West, Kitchener

    FAT CATS

    with opening band HARVARD MOUSE

and a drum circle between bands led by ORGANIC GROOVE

(bring a hand drum and join in)

    $8 at the door

    19+

    Peace, Mark

  7. Wow, I've been swamped of late so had to go back a few pages to do some reading ... glad I opened this thread!

You make me smile SugarMegs! :: :) :: Love ya!

    Peace, Mark

  8. A great idea ... thanks for organizing it dancingbear!

Glad you got the packages c-towns ... after I sent the first package I thought maybe you already had the first discs but regifting some sweet music is always fun.

Thanks to LMP for my gifts ... given that they were from LMP, I'm sure that some of you can imagine what I've been up to with my time! :: ::

    Peace, Mark

  9. Thanks to everyone who made it out to the show last night ... we had a blast playing at the Boathouse in Victoria Park and hope to be back there in the spring. Next time we'll move a few tables to make some dance room.

Our next gig is on Fri. Jan. 21 upstairs at the Lanc in Kitchener ... we open for the Fat Cats, and are very much looking forward to it! We've got Tungsten Gruvsten doing sound, and there will be a drum circle between bands led by Organic Groove ... it's going to be a full-on "pedal to the metal" party ... I hope to see many of your smiling faces and dancing bodies at the show! I know that I'll be dancing and smiling, that's for sure!

    Peace, Mark

  10. "do you think there will be room for me and Tigger at the Boathouse" ... let's put it this way, it will seem empty in there without the 2 of you bouncing around! :: ... and whatever you can do to help fill the place up is appreciated, as this is our first Boathouse gig and it would be nice to pack the place and set things up well for the future.

Nice to read you'll be able to make it Craig!

The mouse developed at Harvard and the attempts to patent it raise lots of interesting ethical, moral, legal, and philisophical issues ...

And a friendly reminder ... the show will most likely start at 9 or very shortly after to ensure that we have time to play 2 full sets of music, as we can only play until midnight or shortly after.

    Peace, Mark

  11. My wish for 2005 is to continue to follow my mother's advice and to hopefully play a song about it for my family and friends. Part of the song goes like this:

When I was a young boy

    my momma asked me

    "Son when you grow up

what do you want to be?"

    I said "Mom,

    a hockey star,

I want to skate, shoot, score

    take my team very far."

    She said "Son

    listen to me,

there is one thing in life I want you to be ...

    be happy

    be happy

I want you to be happy

    be happy

    happy to be."

Wishing everyone much happiness for 2005!

    Peace, Mark
