  1. If you want defensive defensemen, Robyn Regehr is as good as any in the league.
  2. I believe so, but I haven't memorized the episodes.
  3. BradM's Top 5 dream dates: 1. The green dancing woman from the original Star Trek series: 2. Quark 3. Alf 4. Captain Janeway from Star Trek Voyager 5. The episode where James T. Kirk switched bodies with a crazy woman.
  4. I find Vedder's cover of "Hard Sun" very similar to the original, a song I don't like.
  5. "When Your Minds Made Up" from the film Once, music by the Swell Season (the stars of the film too).

    BEER!!

Creemore isn't an indie brand anymore, so if it tastes different, we know the reason.
  7. HA! Live Stripes is best served when you don't have to work in the morning and have a fridge full of beer.
  8. Isn't there periphery Hobbit material in those Unfinished Tales books?
  9. I was talking to Booche when the Canes scored two late goals to tie it. I told him: "You want to hear some good news?" I never had the chance to tell him that the Leafs went on to lose.
  10. A devastating way to lose a game. Giving up two goals late in the game only to lose it in OT. Brutal stuff. And how soft defensively were Antropov and Ponikarovsky late in the game? It's a rhetorical question. Hilarious game Leaf losers.

    BEER!!

I like it too! I'd also like to give a shout-out to McAuslan, particularly their pale ale
  12. And the bar has been raised realism-wise thanks to directors interpreting dark graphic novels. I think we've seen the last of campy crap comic adaptations. Even film adaptations of humanist cartoons have been excellent: Ghost World, American Splendor and From Hell (a pretty good film).
  13. Obviously you didnt see Batman Begins. Go rent it man. I think that is the best Batman movie of the lot. I agree. It ain't no kiddie flick either.
  14. I can't wait for The Dark Knight. Tintin fucking rules. Jackson and Spielberg will do a great job. Andy Serkis (Smeagol) has signed on, probably as Captain Haddock, the drunkest cartoon character ever.
  15. I hope Jackson directs The Hobbit. I've heard that he may only produce although undoubtedly with a heavy hand. I'm hoping that if he doesn't direct, that he picks Sam Raimi (rumoured) or one of those excellent Harry Potter directors like Alfonso Cuarón, Mike Newell or David Yates. Even better would be Guillermo Del Toro (Mimic, Cronos, The Devil's Backbone, Hellboy, Pan's Labyrinth)
  16. I wouldn't call having a prostrate cancer operation as "ass surgery". That's a stupid thing to say.
  17. Booche emailed me the particulars today. I can't wait! The idea that they are also producing a sequel to The Hobbit is fascinating. I'm also loving Jackson teaming with Spielberg to do a Tintin triology. From Ain't It Cool: Here Come THE HOBBIT(s)!!!!! Merrick here... Word is flying fast & furious: Team Jackson, New Line, and MGM have made nice and are gearing up to launch 2 HOBBIT movies. One will be an adaptaion of J.R.R. Tolkien's THE HOBBIT. The second project is believed to be a bridge between THE HOBBIT and THE LORD OF THE RINGS trilogy - culled from the titanic amount of periphery/ancillary/notated material found in Tolkien's works. Such material can already be seen in the exiting films. Peter Jackson and Fran Walsh will Executive Produce; no word on whether Jackson will direct just yet. Last year, an AICN interview with LORD OF THE RINGS composer Howard Shore indicated he'd already begun toying with HOBBIT themes & whatnot...immediately therafter the shit hit the fan. Maybe he'll get a chance to share his music with us after all? 18. Too bad. I disliked his Olympic coverage, but I loved him doing Jays games with Tony Kubek (the best colour guy the team has ever had). R.I.P.
  19. This is an excellent Christmas album with MMJ at their early alt-country best doing mostly original tunes including their classic "Xmas Curtain": I also love this jamming good time Christmas album:
  20. I hate computers for music listening. It surprises me too that there are people who watch movies on a computer.
  21. Although I think the UK version is one of the most important TV comedies, the US version is excellent too, but not as based in reality. I skipped year I of the US Office and haven't looked back. The US Office is in good creative hands too. Gervais and Merchant are executive producers and Greg Daniels (King of the Hill, early era Simpsons) is the creator/producer.
  22. I think it's actually starting to get even more stormy in Toronto. The wind has picked up considerably. What a fun night.
