  1. Punk doesn't age well and I think Henry Rollins is too progressive nowadays to bring back the Flag. The Allman Brothers is my top pick to reform. I'd like to see hardcore Swedish punkers The Refused make a comeback too. Richard Lloyd left Television, so they'd be in my list. So too with Derek & The Dominoes. The Replacements kick major ass, but were never the same without crazy-talented lead guitarist Bob Stinson. A comeback for the original Guns & Roses and Van Halen would be cool too. Edit: I love The Jam. Bring them back as well. Paul Weller has never been as good as he was with them. It would be nice to see The Pogues reform with Shane back in front, before he dies.
  2. The photo is in today's/Sunday's Toronto Star: Section E, page 19. Thanks everyone!
  3. Thanks Paisley! It's amazing what cosmetic surgery can do nowadays. My avatar pic was taken at Booche's wedding a number of years ago.
  4. Thanks Tim and Myrna (aka Mrs. Bouchard)!
  5. Today is my first wedding anniversay. If you get the Toronto Star, check out what my wife got me as a 'paper' wedding gift. It's very cool and thoughtful. What a gal! It's on page E19 under Weddings/Celebrations.
  6. It's been a bad week for Overbay. His errors cost the Jays two wins.
  7. Thanks everyone. My passport will expire 4 months after I return from Ireland. I may go in a get a rush passport on Monday if my normal paranoia gets the best of me.
  8. Here's an exerpt from the NY Times "Chrome Dreams" review: Had it been released, "Chrome Dreams" might have stood today as one of Neil Young's best records ever. The bar-room characters amidst historical references & passionate love songs creates a magical atmosphere. But like most first drafts, the perception of what's important & what isn't must be left to the artist, and not to the record company bean counters or the whims of the artists' "biggest" fans. As near-perfect as "Chrome Dreams" might seem, it's release would've created un-fillable holes in other near-perfect albums like "American stars 'n bars," "Comes A Time" and "Rust Never Sleeps." Read the full story here.
  9. I think headymamamyrna, popo weenie and I will battle it out for lowest score.
  10. Thanks, but it's still a little vague. I kinda want some first-hand accounts. My passport is valid, but expires in January. I'm only going for two weeks. I hate this nagging doubt even after another friend reassured me at lunch today.
  11. I heading to the Emerald Isle on the 29th. I've been assured by several friends and my cousin that I won't need to get my passport renewed - it expires in January 08. However, customs (on the Ireland website) and Canadian Customs says that travelers need to have valid passports with 6 months remaining to their expiry date. Questions: Should I be concerned about being hasseled or not allowed to travel? Should I get a rush on a new passport or go regardless? I'd like anyone to answer these questions that have been to the UK or Ireland recently.
  12. I see that two cuts are of the lengthy epic variety. I hope this will signal Neil's return to playing lead guitar solos, something he's all but abandonded this century.
  13. I'll be in Ireland in less than two weeks. I'll be sure to lock the doors if I'm around Atheny.
  14. That is hilarious... hilariously terrifying and foolish.
  15. I'll bet the odds are a lot better with Anton showing-up and performing compared to Shane McGowan at a Pogues/Popes concert.
  16. And to think everyone thinks Henry Miller is dead.
  17. Criminal Records continues to be one of the treasures in the downtown (Queen & Spadina). It opened last year and kicks major ass both with prices and an exciting clothing and accessories line.
  18. Cops that have been on CityTv have said they will look the other way if you go 120 on the 401. Go over that and you may get pulled over. Really though, the lower the maximum the less sympathy you'll get if you get caught speeding. Maximum 40 or 50 KMP should be followed since these limits are normally for high residential areas. I've been known to give the finger to speeders in my neighbourhood and I hope they get offended and pull over.
