  1. Freaker,

Is there anyway I can arrange to get a pair of tickets tonight sometime? Sorry for the lateness, but as I said I only just found out I would have Friday off. If possible to get them, I just need to arrange a where and when tonight to pay for them and pick them up.

  2. I lack originality. :P

I thought is was from the Lightning Hopkins song , as covered by Pigpen on Bear's Choice ;)

My username comes from the fact that I first met Bouche at a very loud show at Cafe Dekcuf, and he mishear my name when I told him, so for the next couple of weeks until I corrected him he mistakenly called me Bob, instead of my officially designated short form Rob. Since Rob is a really common name I used Rob not Bob (with the extremely cool abbreviation RnB) to distinguish myself from the crowd :)

  3. Folks,

We are having a yard sale tomorrow at 258 Bronson, 1 block north of Somerset ... come peruse our assemblage of neat and incredibly affordable stuff! Every little bit helps, folks, we could really use the money now that Fiona has to go on disability. Looking forward to seeing some of you good people there.

  4. How about

The End/Her Majesty - The Beatles, Abbey Road

Great one ... when I was first thinking of this, I was limiting myself to one per artist, but the Beatles had lots of great closing tracks ... Tomorrow Never Knows from Revolver, Good Night from the White Album, Get Back from Let It Be ... if they had ever put Hey Jude on an actual album, it would have been the last track :)

  5. In the movie High Fidelity, the characters have a discussion on the all time best Track One, Side One songs ... I was pondering the opposite of that, some of the all time great last tracks on albums. By this I mean not just great songs that happened to be the last ones on the album, but great studio album closers, ones that finished the album off in style. Here are a few that spring to my mind, let me know what your picks are :

Soul Survivor - Exile On Main Street - The Rolling Stones

A Day In The Life - Sgt. Pepper - The Beatles (of course!)

When The Levee Breaks - Fourth Album - Led Zeppelin

Come On - Urban Hymns - The Verve

Eclipse - Dark Side Of The Moon - Pink Floyd

O, Sweet Nuthin' - Loaded - Velvet Underground

Won't Get Fooled Again - Who's Next - The Who

Starless - Red - King Crimson

And This Day - Hex Enduction Hour - The Fall

For Your Pleasure - For Your Pleasure - Roxy Music

It - The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway - Genesis

Inner City Blues - What's Goin' On - Marvin Gaye

I Remember Nothing - Unknown Pleasures - Joy Division

Get Out Of My House - The Dreaming - Kate Bush

Highlands - Time Out Of Mind - Bob Dylan

    Neverland - Marbles - Marillion

Purple Rain - Purple Rain - Prince and the Revolution

Lost And Found - Over - Peter Hammill

Chalkhills And Children - Oranges And Lemons - XTC

  6. ooh I dug that Fun For Malakai band too, it was Starling guy's pre-Starling band. Their tape used to be in high rotation when I had a tape deck in the car.

Opening for Fun For Malakai was the first gig my old band ever got, although oddly enough it wasn't the first gig we played. We also had the world's record for almost opening for the Age Of Faith without it ever happening (something like three times).

  7. Just publicizing the fact that my comedy group will be performing at the Ottawa Fringe Festival in the next week, as it says we have lots of comps so if anyone want free tickets I can get you some ... note that I will not be at the 17th or the 20th performances, so don't bother showing up those times :)

There may not be an election coming up (although these days anything is possible) , but you still can cast a vote for LAUGHTER by coming to... FUNCLE FUN and SPARKY'S REAL LIVE CARTOON RADIO SHOWE

    at

    Fthe OTTAWA FRINGE FESTIVALE

No back-room deals, no backstabbing, no procedural wrangling, no confidence votes or confidence tricks--just good old-fashioned silliness with all the new-fangled bells and whistles that we can hang on 'em. B

You don't have to buy your vote, either--we have plenty of freebies available for every show (of course, if you want to pay the 8 bucks at the door, you're more than welcome to...but by all means take advantage of our largesse...you can always splurge on CDs and other fine souvenir items if you feel guilty about putting your tickets on the cuff).

It was then moved that this message be concluded and the meeting adjourned; the motion was carried unanimously.

  8. A few weird , related TPB questions :

    1) What is the name of the character who is never actually seen but is occasionally heard screaming his head off in the background? ("Jesus Christ! I paid for a lady, not fucking Corey and Trevor!") I remember Rickey once addressed him by name, but I forget what it was.

    2) What exactly was it he screamed at Corey and Trevor when they were in the strip club?

    3) Anyone know who does the voice? My guess is Mike "Bubbles" Smith, but I don't know for sure.
