Thanks a huge bunch, Meggo, I really appreciate the offer ... I will phone you Monday evening, if that is ok.
Cheers,

Hux,
Could you please PM me when you get in, let me know if you are available? We're still hard pressed trying to gather enough help.

Pre-school Butters was priceless too

Oh yeah, also I could be one of the zany Stars Hollowites in Gilmore Girls ... I could be the crazy record store owner who is Lane's connection for her John Coltrane bootlegs. Of course, if I ever got in trouble I'd have James Spader or William Shatner from Boston Legal to bail me out.
"Denny Crane!"

Northern Exposure ... a place I could really fit in. Alternately, I'd love to be a makeover subject on Queer Eye For The Straight Guy ... for those who are wondering, I'd be the Straight Guy.

Which raises the question, what the hell is Velvet's avatar?

It also has a cool little 2 page article on How To Buy The Grateful Dead ... basically a Top 10 Albums voted on by their readers and writers.

In one of the seriously weird coincidences that crop up in my life, I just purchased a copy of the movie High Plains Drifter.

People you didn't know played Live Aid :
David Gilmour, playing guitar for Bryan Ferry

And with Brian Blade on drums...and I'm sure other stellar players whose names now escape me (though I think the bass player's name was familiar)
Brian Blade AKA the drummer for the goddess Emmylou Harris

Just so folks know, we have definitely set the first moving date as being December 11th, which is a Saturday ... if any folks who are up for helping could get back to me, it would be very much appreciated.

I had to pre-order it so I would get the bonus disc full of goodies ... the live 75 version of the Blues For Allah suite with Ned Lagin and Merle Saunders is especially tasty. I've made my way out through the runts of the Dead studio litter (Terrapin through Go To Heaven) and am digging the expanded Reckoning, possibly my favorite Dead concert recording.

If you liked Raw Power, you should check out the archival Stooges release Open Up And Bleed. Sound quality is a bit sub-optimal, but the live tracks are scorching.

Not to be a nitpicker, but Raw Power, awesome though it is, isn't a live album.

yeah, but in the pre-internet days I did myself serious hearing damage listening to Page's solos over and over off of it so have to include it in my list... there is a nice Since I've Been Loving You on it and the Dazed and Confused extended solo still gives me wood
Since I'be Been Loving You wasn't on the album, it was in the movie but Celebration Day (not in the movie) was the token LZ3 song on the album

After Tuesday's utterly craptacular results, I thought nothing would possibly pull this week out of the hole. But what should I find on my doorstep when I got home from work today?
The new Grateful Dead boxed set! Yippee!
So this weekend I anticipate drowning myself in savory bonus track goodness. I had forgotten what an awesome album wake of the flood was. Life is good again.
