  1. I'd have to divide my picks between 2 styles ....

    Progressive

    Steve Howe : guitar, mandolin

    Robert Fripp : guitar, Frippertronics

Rick Wakeman : keyboards, cape, curry

Tony Levin : Bass, Chapman stick, backing vocals

Jaki Liebezeit (Can) : Drums, percussion

    Bill Bruford : Drums, percussion

    Jamming

Bobby "Ace" Weir : vocals, rhythm guitar

Warren Haynes : vocals, lead guitar

    Derek Trucks : slide guitar

    Page McConnell : keyboards, vocals

"Here lies Rob Vincent ... everything he touched, he destroyed"

"Now has time to listen to all of those shows he burned"

    "This is only a phase"

"You think you got troubles ..."

  3. Sunshine,

Sadly, you arrived in Ottawa too late ... the mid-80s was he real golden age of CHEZ, it had such an amazingly diverse range of music on it, I was exposed to all sorts of neat stuff thanks to CHEZ. Sadly, in the early 90s the officially jammed it's format as being "Classic Rock" and got rid of most of the really interesting DJs and it has been a pale shadow of its former glory since then.

  4. Dude who are you this sh!t just cracks me up:

the guy who was pissed off that a woman in the pagan community a) was more popular a leader than he was and B) wouldn't sleep with him, so he filed a complaint on her for welfare fraud

All a hundred percent true ... the same guy whose favorite tactic for dealing with women he has problems with is to file a complaint with child services on them.

  5. I've met some world class lowlifes in my time (two of my ex-roommates, the guy who was pissed off that a woman in the pagan community a) was more popular a leader than he was and B) wouldn't sleep with him, so he filed a complaint on her for welfare fraud , my "best friend" in the beginning of high school, etc.) but I'd hesitate to give them as much credit as being "the devil". I guess living in the same town as Brian Mulroney in the 80s is the closest I go.

  6. I haven't seen the box set before. I think I know what my next DVD purchase is going to be!

The boxed set isn't DVD, it's just audio, but it is well worth the price ... the version of Acadian Driftwood I put on a mix CD for you and Mike (with Neil and Joni doing backing vocals) is from that boxed set.

  7. I've been a long time "Devils Advocate" defender of Mike Love, but at this point I really wish he'd wrap up the Beach Boys. It seems that Brian is tourning the music of the Beach Boys and Mike is touring the image, and at this point it's just embarassing.

  8. Hey man, this idiot isn't spilling the beans of what sucks in his music collection...

HAHA You have Counting Crows in your CD collection!!!!! :P

If I had included my cassette collection (at my parents place, so I couldn't peruse it easily), we would have had the Spin Doctors on the list :P

  9. You folks who aren't meeting the "Must be taken from your collection" requirement are utterly missing the point ... any idiot can post a list of songs they hate, but it takes serious huevos to post a list of bad songs while saying "I paid money for this" ... all of these songs are chosen for their ability to irritate either me or other people, I am actually a fan of all of these acts except for Counting Crows (taken from a compilation CD that came free with a magazine that I own) and Focus (part of a Progressive Rock boxed set) :

    1) Kokomo - The Beach Boys

    2) A Spy In The Cab - Bauhaus

    3) Runnin' Blue - The Doors

    4) Don't You Know What The Night Can Do - Steve Winwood

    5) Union Federal - Phish (surprised more people haven't picked on this one)

    6) Happy Family - King Crimson

    7) Dinah Moe Hum - Frank Zappa

    8) It's Friday, I'm In Love - The Cure (don't really hate it, but am really tired of this song by now)

    9) Round Here - Counting Crows

    10) Neighborhood Bully - Bob Dylan

    11) Not That Funny - Fleetwood Mac

    12) I Just Called To Say I Love You - Stevie Wonder

    13) Down By The Seaside - Led Zeppelin

    14) Internationalists - The Style Council

    15) News Of The World - The Jam

    16) The Trial - Pink Floyd

    17) You're A Liar - The Bee Gees

    18) Hocus Pocus - Focus

    19) Mind Garden - The Byrds

    20) For You - Emerson Lake And Palmer

    21) Dreamy Lady - T-Rex

    22) Keep Your Day Job - The Grateful Dead

  10. [quote01. Disco Duck- Walt Disney

    02. Hero- Tina Turner

I believe Disco Duck was done by Rick Dees (yes that rick dees, the one that does the top 40 radio show).

For Hero, are you thinking of Bonni Tyler? (I need a Hero)?

I think he means We Don't Need Another Hero from the Mad Max 3 : Beyond Thunderdome soundtrack .
