Aren't they though? I see countless traffic violations made by cyclists every day on my commute to work. The informed cyclist that actually walks his or her bike on the sidewalk is in the vast minority, and I applaud them. And I'm saying this as a pedestrian. At least I can reasonably predict the behaviour of an automobile and I've never seen one driving on the sidewalk. It's the cyclists that scare me.

On second thought, when it comes to the topic of stimulus packages, I do care. My mom stands to lose her pension due to Nortel's bankruptcy filing. If this becomes an election issue then I'll likely vote for the party that is going to do the most for the pensioners.

I wouldn't call this hard evidence by any means, but I have noticed way more people walking around the grocery store with cloth bags now. Not evidence that people are cutting down on plastic bags, but evidence that cutting down on plastics bags actually has a positive impact on the environment.

I think it's all bullshit. Some genius (literally) realized that you can charge consumers for something they used to get for free by putting a "green" spin on the marketing campaign.
