Mastodon tomorrow night!!!

I drove through it this afternoon outside Brantford. We saw the most amazing rainbow (saw the end of it too!) and then an insane hail (!) storm... crazy winds, lots of lightning and black black clouds. It seemed like they were touching down in the distance... but the horizon had farms and stuff blocking the full view. THe higway was nuts with cars pulled over and people driving like idiots. I was also just in Indiana yesterday, where south of Indianapolis, tornados, storms and flooding had declared 10 counties as disaster zones. Crazy weather weekend.

Ha! That's hilarious. Yeah... we weren't too happy with the venue either. And with the show being sold out for the last two months, it definately could've used an upgrade to somewhere with a bit more room. Fun, gig though. .

Although.... now that I think about it.... there was a kid in the front row in Anaheim in March on the Ace tour who was on his phone for our entire set texting... and it did actually get to us. What the hell was he doing in the front row paying absolutely no attention to band? So maybe cell phones are a bit of a concert distraction. But if it wasn't that it'd be something else I guess. Like beer, for example.

I've never had a problem with seeing people on their phones. I mean... can they actually even hear anything during a show anyway? And I even had an experience the other night that I thought was kinda cool.... during the 'ballad' of the night at the Kool Haus, where people would traditionally hold up lighters... Colin asked people to hold up their cell phones. It looked pretty damn cool to see a sea of cell light. Mind you... I don't think you really could've gotten the whole effect unless you were on stage... but from where I was I thought it was cool. What's really ruining concerts these days is beer.

I heard from a very reliable source that Queens of the Stone Age are playing a surprise show tonight at the Elmocambo. Due to a radius clause for tomorrow's Hamilton gig, they've chosen this option for a TO show this evening. If you're into this... I'm sure a bit of digging will turn up if it's true or not.... but I'm pretty sure it is. Just a heads up!
