    Austin Trip

Guerro's for Tex Mex is pretty good. The Shady Grove had good Chicken fried steak... The Continental Club is classic... and there's a place upstairs and to the left from it where I saw basically the best band I've ever seen - just a weekly house gig for some local wizards. http://www.continentalclub.com/Austin.html
  2. Thanks for the link AD!! I didn't even know this existed.
  3. Shit! Gav and I went down to see if we could find tickets and... $150 each!!! Oh well... I put on Frances the Mute as I drove home.
  4. Oh well... it's scalped ones for me. Hope someone else from this board is checking this show out... these guys are KILLER.

Too hilarious. That's Tim Bovaconti's nickname of many years.. The Bover.
  6. Congrats!! Did you like the Ron show?
  7. I'd love to catch this show..... I might just try going down to the venue and seeing if I can get a ticket at the door or get a scalped one.
  8. I mostly play cowbell on Hold me In Your Arms.
  9. I'm kinda hooked on their new disc. Mind you... I've listened to it about 70 times while learning it. I have a new appreciation for them now for sure.
  10. They've brought me on to play auxilary keys, guitar and vocals. They're about to release a new CD with lots of organ on it, and have always had some on their recordings. I've been rehearsing with them the last few days, and it's going pretty good - they're definately a loud rock n roll band. I like it. On a side note.... I love the RECENT VIDEOS on the side now. Handy. <----------------------------
  11. He lays into it right off the top! And the line, "The poor old dirt farmer, how bad he must feel He fell off his tractor up under a wheel, And now his head, Is shaped like a tread, But he ain't quite dead" is awesome!

I LOVE this show... but I'm always so damn TENSE while watching it!! It's very uncomfortable - but enjoyable. The title sequence actually kinda grosses me out. And, thanks! Now after reading this post I absolutely cannot get past Angel's lisp. Midway through season 2 and reaaaly digging it. Makes me want to go back and rewatch 6 Feet Under... I think I'd appreciate David all the more.

He's great. We've got to share the stage with him a bunch of times. And his band is killer... Don Kerr on drums, Tim Bovaconti on guitar and Jason Mercer on bass - all wizards of their trade.
  14. I just heard the mission impossible part of the music at the end..... fuck, oh my fuck.
  15. You'd think they might've been able to come up with some better music for this bit given some of the musicain members they have. That alone was enough to piss me off.
  16. Spiral beach is fuckin awesome... wish I was around for this.
  17. I read both... Levon's first. I liked it that way. Levon's painted an inside picture... his take on it.. which is a pretty valuable one! But then the Hoskins book gives an outside look... which is really how you're supposed to see it I guess. When I first heard the band, I had no idea any of the inner workings, just what I heard and loved. Choose inside or outside first... and enjoy.
  18. This festival name drives me nuts. In fact, most festival names drive me nuts.
  19. So amazing to see Jer get a fantastic gig like that...
