  1. Oooohhh. I'm there! Traffic be with me please!
  2. The Trews will be on at 5:30 for an interview and performance.
  3. Wow. Shocking sad news. What a loss...
  4. http://www.megaupload.com/?d=5F8FQP6W Check out Ace's 1978 solo album. So far the tour has left us all snowblind. Snowed in in Baltimore, drunk in Atlanta, insane in New Orleans, angry monitor techs in Dallas, having a rap off with some dudes in Springfield outside a mall (we got served) and now eating bagels on the bus in St Louis. Looks like we've added a headline Trews show in Kitchener at Elements on Mar 7 too, before heading off on the second leg. I'll try to get some pics up.
  5. I've read that the theme of Ace's tour is to play classics... his own stuff and stuff he wrote for Kiss. He does have a solo album due to be released soon, but I've read that he won't be playing anything from it live, until the CD is out.
  6. Are those guys still tight at all? I wonder what the odds of any of the other members of Kiss showing up at any of the gigs are. And that's exactly what I was thinking when I said in/out as well.
  7. It'll probably be mid May... but I think it'll be one of those in/out scenerios.
  8. I enjoyed this movie as well. Although, I HATED most of the music in it. I've talked with some people who agree with me and some who stongly disagree. I mean, the soundtrack is at number one on the charts right now too. Go figure. It just rubbed me the wrong way. Perhaps the music suited her character in the flick.... she seemed to have that kind of vibe to her. And I know Ellen Page actually suggested that music to the director... "Juno would listen to the Mouldy Peaches" was what she said. Initially he had stuff like Yo La Tengo as the soundtrack. Oh well. Still a great movie.
  9. Ahhhhh.... no go on the Elkas gig. He's doing the tour solo... maybe with the bass laser and collett's drummer playing too. I had planned on being there anyway for family stuff... but now I'm not. Too bad.
  10. Yeah yeah! Who was that band... they were pretty cool. The white shades came with the gig, ya know. What a fun weekend too. We'll still be in the West on April 19th. Maybe Calgary. Why do you ask so date specific?
  11. No... I'm opting out of the Cuba trip to hang in NYC for a couple days at the end of the Ace tour.
  12. No... We're not doing the Canadian dates as we're doing our own tour right after. but I'll be there for 2 nights around the 15 and 16 though. I'll be sure to let you know Jeffrey.
  13. I'm pretty blown away by the whole thing. The first couple shows we've done have gone fantastic out here in the East... and if anything it'll be good to just be playing so many shows in a row. Mary, I'll be sure to document some craziness. It'd probably be a good oportunity to get some writing done as well! Needless to say, I'm quite excited to be getting the chance to do this. 8 days away now!!

  15. I do this out of love ya know... but you can see Jer hit a SWEET clam and laugh it off to himself around 45 seconds into "Not Over You". He claimed his hands were sweaty.... but seriously... nice work pallie!
  16. Yeah... they're good guys. We've gigged with them a bunch with Elkas (same management). And they're as well!
  17. I think any band that has had a number one single or record can use that phrase. I was wondering when this show was going to be announced. We head out East on Wednesday and I've got my first show on Thursday... which will feature sets by hey rosetta!, Two Hours Traffic, the Tom Fun Orchestra, Slowcoaster, Wintersleep, Grand Theft Bus and the Trews. Should be a blast!

    NMAS >> Toronto

The guy who came out and played the Flying V was the guitar player from the Spin Doctors, Eric Schenkman. Whereas the guy who hopped on stage left and just stood there and raised his arms trimuphantly until Luther had to tell him to leave, was a dolt. (Hope you're not reading this...dolt.) I figured I'd give this band another chance.... but they were.... bland. Luther is a great guitarist, no doubt... but the show was very low energy and came off like generic blues rock.... Lines like "Shake it baby...all right" and "Shake what your mama gave you" left me wondering where their popularity has come from. The whole show was kinda quiet... and the bass was no where near as loud as it could've/should've been. All in all they were a little too 'safe' for me. But thumbs up to Luther for choosing '50' in his on-stage Canadian beer taste test.
  19. Constantines!!! I recently ran into Leslie Feist who told me she sang on a B-side with them of "Islands in the Stream" too. Woo hoo!!
  20. Russian Futurists eh? My good friend Scott Farmer, formerly of BNB, is in that band. I still haven't made it out to see them yet. That might be a good one to check out.... Plus, I'm playing with Wintersleep, Grand Theft Bus and Slowcoaster in Fredericton for a pre ECMA show next week I just realized! Woo hoo! Of all the subway cars in TO, I'm actually amazed at how many times I see people down there. Enjoy the show Kevin!
  21. I saw them in Austin in March. They were great! Kinda funny to run into you on the subway today too.
