  1. There's some tough games ahead for the lilys, to be sure. We've not lost a game since December and Bale seems to be able to score at will, so I'm pretty confident right now. We'll see if they can avoid the meltdown they suffered this time last year with 'arry. Looking forward to seeing Defoe come back from injury.
  2. 4besie - yepper! If you don't have one you can really use anything that is oven safe up to 450 degrees and has a lid like a stock pot. Meggo wouldn't have stood for that length of ovening.
  3. Big match March 3rd, Slothy. I'm considering printing a life size picture of your face to hurl insults/food at during the game.
  4. That's a pretty solid line up. No crazy wow factors, but a lot of really awesome acts.
  5. HAHAHAHAH I'll fix in sec.
  6. Combined my two newest members of the family (kitchen-aid mixer and enamelled dutch oven) this weekend to make two loaves of seriously delicious bread. Used the recipe here: http://thepioneerwoman.com/cooking/2009/05/the-bread-in-his-words/ Loaf #1: decided to substitute half of the water for beer, using a Great Lakes Pompous Ass EPA. Also, replaced the butter with Olive oil as our guests don't eat dairy. I decided to cold proof it in the fridge overnight, with a re-knead in the AM as well as a 3 hour countertop proof before baking. 4 herb and beer bread looks like this. Loaf #2: Tried to follow the recipe exactly, but ended up doing 2x 3hr proofs instead of 1x 4 hr one. Added diced serrano chiles, rosemary and thyme to this one. Also, no butter again, just olive oil. The beer definitely changed the crust of the bread. Much darker, almost buttery, flaky texture. That also could have been due to the 12 hour cold proofing as well. Key help came from my instant read thermometer that I had plugged into the loaf with an alarm to go off once it read 200 degrees. Missed the mark by a couple of degrees on the first loaf, so made sure with #2. I'm looking forward to eating a lot of carbs, very soon

    BEER!!

Looking forward to this! BARRIE, ON – Flying Monkeys Craft Brewery is preparing to follow up the BNL Imperial Chocolate Stout released via the LCBO late last year with another limited edition beer that will be available at the Ontario liquor store chain. The Matador Imperial IPA, a 10% abv & 88 IBU cedar-aged ale created for the 8th anniversary of Flying Monkeys, is described as follows: As an Imperial IPA, The Matador is full of drama and colour playing to the expectant passions of true beer aficionados. Fresh aromas of sweet cedar wood smolder in the warmth of this beer’s 10% ABV while Amarillo hops give this Imperial IPA astounding citrus flavours pushing its bittering to a solid 88 IBUs. The Matador is an artisanal beer truly worthy of Imperial status. Olé! The Matador will be available soon at select LCBO outlets in boxed 750 ml bottles. The size of the edition and price point are still to be confirmed.
  9. One of these days I'm going to go see him...
  10. 1. Pfffft. 2. Vegan choices?! Janet should have to adapt on Super Bowl Sunday. 3. Pizza from?
  11. I'm not going to have the home field advantage this year, so I may just got some ribs and wings on the go.
  12. Made it from the most recent Cook's illustrated mag - REALLY tasty. A tad too much rice, I think, but otherwise magnificent. I'll post the recipe here later today when I scan it. Too much fuggin typing to do it the other way.
  13. It's got a Lenny Kravitz feel to it as well. Not too shabby.
  14. I REAAAAAAAAALLY fucking hope The Stone Roses come this way. Like, a lot.
  15. Every year this makes me jealous. So cool! I've found a newfound love in skating past couple years I had a dream last night where I was skating and I actually enjoyed it.
  16. Sultans of Swing was particularly great, though!
  17. The first set was fantastic; full of energy and appropriately placed tunes. The second set, however, paled by comparison and was mediocre at best. There were moments of greatness there, but overall, the new material just isn't as strong and completely killed the vibe. Reminded me a lot of how Phish has been playing lately during the summer. Strong out of the gate and then questionable song placement at moments of paramount importance. I had set low expectations going in, so I didn't come away disappointed but I was really hoping for that first set energy to be carried throughout.
