MarcO
Well, it's a popular choice but Blood On The Tracks is a desert island disc for me. It was the first Dylan album I bought - I was in Grade 6 - and so many years later, it still reveals new things to me. Every line in every song is a work of art in and of themselves. Every song is a classic. It is haunting, deep, spiritual, raw and mysterious and I don;t think I'll ever not want to keep a copy in my collection; it's absolutely essential. A perfect work of art. Esau
I agree Marc0, BOTT is a masterpiece & favourite studio album of mine,I never tire listening to that album.edit to add:I'll make you a copy of "Blood on the tapes" New York sessions,it the outtakes of Blood on the tracks and is equally amazing with twists in lyrics and the tempos of the songs making for a even different outlook on what Bob was getting at. CatPhish
It is very very hard to decide on a favorite. I love disc three of the Bootleg series. I have also been favouring the Pat Garret and Billy the Kid cd, I'm not usually big on soundtracks but this one is great. I love listening to it and picturing cowboy images in my head. Del
My favorite Dylan at the moment has to be that video of Tangled Up In Blue and Isis that I saw at CatPhish and DaveyBoy's place awhile ago... Love that... There's almost too much Dylan to pick a favorite... It's all great.

Esau
right on,that Isis & Tangled up in blue are from the same tour as the MLG show I posted above,I believe from Montreal (considered Bobs best show) and are from the unreleased movie called "Renaldo & Clara" Dylan made.Great stuff. Weirdness
I've always loved the New Morning album. The vocals are fantastic and the songwriting is completely different from anything else that he has done.
StoneMtn
The two favourite shows I've seen by Bob were in 1996 (I think) when he played with Santana in Toronto, and in 2000 (or something like that) when he played Vancouver along with Paul Simon. By far, the worst I've seen of him was summer 1989 - Kingswood. He seemed drunk, mumbly and overall lame! My favourite Bob Dylan Story is by Arlo Guthrie. According to Arlo it went something like this: "I was going to play (somewhere that StoneMtn can't recall) and I was called by the local paper. They said, 'Bob Dylan is coming to town the same night as you are. Why in the world would anyone come see you?' Well, at that time Bob Dylan wasn't really playing his classics anymore, so I said, 'If they want to see some good ol' Bob Dylan tunes, they have no choice but to come and see me!' I was kidding, but to my amazement, they printed it! I found that out on the night of the show, when there were thousands of screaming Bob Dylan fans in my audience waiting for me to play old Bob tunes. So here I was, backstage, with my Bob Dylan Songbook learning the chords..."
TimmyB
Here's my favorite Bob Dylan show: Toronto, Ontario October 29, 1998 Maple Leaf Gardens Gotta Serve Somebody Million Miles Just Like Tom Thumb's Blues I'm Not Supposed To Care Cold Irons Bound Tomorrow Is A Long Time (acoustic) Masters Of War (acoustic) My Back Pages (acoustic) (with harp) Tangled Up In Blue (acoustic) Every Grain Of Sand Highway 61 Revisited (encore) Love Sick Rainy Day Women #12 & 35 Blowin' In The Wind (acoustic) 'Til I Fell In Love With You It Ain't Me, Babe (acoustic) (with harp) This co-headlining concert with Joni Mitchell and Dave Alvin opening, had my only Dylan performances (so far) of "Tomorrow Is a Long Time," "My Back Pages" and "Every Grain of Sand" as well as a beautiful version of Gordon Lightfoot's "I'm Not Supposed To Care." Or it's sometimes this one: Air Canada Centre November 8, 2001 Humming Bird (acoustic) (Larry on electric) The Times They Are A-Changin' (acoustic) (Bob on harp) Desolation Row (acoustic) This World Can't Stand Long (acoustic) (Larry on mandolin) Cry A While Just Like A Woman (Larry on pedal steel and Bob on harp) High Water (Larry on banjo) Maggie's Farm A Hard Rain's A-Gonna Fall (acoustic) (Larry on bouzouki) John Brown (acoustic) (Larry on bouzouki) Tangled Up In Blue (acoustic) (Bob on harp)) Summer Days (Tony on standup bass) Sugar Baby (Tony on standup bass) The Wicked Messenger (Bob on harp) Rainy Day Women #12 & 35 (Larry on steel guitar) (1st encore) Things Have Changed Highway 61 Revisited (Paul James on electric guitar) Like A Rolling Stone (Paul James on electric guitar) Forever Young (acoustic) Honest With Me Blowin' In The Wind (acoustic) (2nd encore) All Along The Watchtower This ACC no opener gig is the longest Dylan show I've attended and no surprise it has the most songs performed as well. It was also the first time I saw "Love And Theft" songs live and has my only performance (so far) of "A Hard Rain's A-Gonna Fall." Or it's sometimes this one: Elmira, New York Coach USA Center November 9, 2002 Tweedle Dee & Tweedle Dum (Bob on piano) Carrying A Torch (song by Van Morrison) (Bob on piano) Tombstone Blues (Bob on piano) Watching The River Flow (Bob on piano) Things Have Changed (Bob on piano) Brown Sugar (song by Mick Jagger and Keith Richards) Positively 4th Street (Bob on acoustic guitar) It's Alright, Ma (I'm Only Bleeding) (acoustic) (Bob on piano, Larry on cittern, Charlie on electric guitar and Tony on standup bass) Just Like A Woman (Bob on acoustic guitar and harp, Larry on pedal steel and Charlie on electric guitar) Drifter's Escape (Bob on harp) Shelter From The Storm (acoustic) (Bob and Charlie on acoustic guitars, Tony on standup bass and Larry on mandolin) Old Man (acoustic) (Song by Neil Young) (Bob and Larry on acoustic guitars, Charlie on electric guitar and Tony on electric bass) Honest With Me (Bob on piano and Larry on slide guitar) Don't Think Twice, It's All Right (acoustic) High Water (For Charley Patton) (Bob on piano) Mutineer (Song by Warren Zevon) (Bob on piano and Larry on pedal steel) Floater (Too Much To Ask) (Bob on piano and Tony on standup bass) Summer Days (Tony on standup bass) (encore) Knockin' On Heaven's Door (acoustic) (Charlie on electric guitar) All Along The Watchtower It was the first time I saw Dylan perform piano live. All the covers were amazing! Especially Dylan covering my other favorite artist Neil Young on "Old Man," and the living tribute to the now late Warren Zevon on "Mutineer." Also my only performances (so far) of "Shelter From the Storm" and "Knocking On Heaven's Door."

Douglas
this might sound strange, but.... I love my dylan, but I barely "know" his music (ie: shows, songs, recordings, etc). I just know that whenever his sound reaches my ears, I'm loving it! So I guess I'd have to say my favourite is...whenever it's playing on my stereo. I just love it. I'm going to get Booche to play "The Bootleg Series Vol 4 - BD Live 1966 - The 'Royal Albert Hall' concert" when Warren & Friends are done givener at Norberry!
