I'm currently listening to, and writing a review of Gov't Mule's re-issue: Live At The Roseland Ballroom (1995). Mule management mailed me the re-issue and I didn't know it was out of print until I read the liner notes. It's been out of print (until this May) for 10 years. Anyway, I think it's their most satisfying live recording, especially for fans of the original power-trio (which I whole-heartedly am):

I've got David Lindley & Hani Naser, "Playing Even Better / Official Bootleg #2" going right now, and the "Tijuana" is melting me. I wish Lindley would start a line of live discs; the Official Bootlegs (#1 and #2) and the double CD with the Cooders are great listens.

Aloha,

Brad

I had my copy autographed by the band outside of the Opera House back in the summer of '97!

04/13/83 (Wed) Patrick Field House, U of Vermont - Burlington, VT

Set 1: Jack Straw, They Love Each Other, Beat It On Down The Line, West L.A. Fadeaway, Mama Tried > Cumberland Blues, Ramble On Rose, Far From Me, My Brother Esau, Might As Well

Set 2: Scarlet Begonias > Fire On The Mountain, Estimated Prophet > Eyes Of The World > Maybe You Know > Drums > Morning Dew > Throwing Stones > Good Lovin', E: Touch of Grey

This Scarlet>Fire segue is blowing my fuckin mind right now. Up to now this show is smokin without a doubt. The mix is a little off until half way through the first set.

I have Grateful Dead Live at Broome County Arena on 1983-04-12 up next. If its anything like this show its gonna be a long night.

edit to add: This is the best Scarlet Fire I have heard ever. Can I have a shwill of your beer?
