"A Concert For Virginia Tech"

To help give the Virginia Tech community a positive start to its first semester back after the April 16, 2007, shootings, DMB headlined this semi-private, free show for Tech students and faculty. A limited number of tickets were sold to the public. All four artists played for free, and ticket and merchandise sales were used to make up the cost of putting on the concert.

By no means is this a definitive or comprehensive list though I do believe you will find it quite enjoyable to listen to not to mention how fascinating it is to get some sort of a look into what possibly inspires and drives this man to create such a masterpiece as “Modern Times†which I find to not only be a window to the past but as well a portal to the future!

This project was originally put together in 2006 when the Modern Times songs were first being played live but now that they've been played over several tours Busy Being Born suggested we return to this project and replace the 2006 performances with performances from this year.I also did a little tweaking here and there removing The Who song which really did not fit in the first place and added Someday Baby as performed by Big Joe Williams in Chicago, December 12, 1941 with Sonny Boy Williamson on harp. I've also chosen three different photographs than the ones I used on three previous discs. These photographs are as well by Ted Croner the photographer whose picture is on the front of Modern Times. ENJOY!

Insanity. :o I had trouble signing up for his site a while back and left it alone but this reminded me to go back and do it. I've been looking for a site full of RT/Fairport stuff for a while and here it is. How could this be bad?

If I had a band we'd do "Now Be Thankful". :P

I found some recently uploaded seriously old-school JSB* on the LMA. Gad: "Pigs", "2001 Jam", "We Want The Funk (Tear The Roof Off)", "A Night In The Life Of Fly Jimmy Swift", "Oye Como Va." This one's gonna be fun. :o

Aloha,

Brad

* At the tail end of the first track, Craig gives the band name as "PF Station," so technically this isn't a JSB show, I guess.
