Esau Posted July 7, 2005 Report Share Posted July 7, 2005 Port Loring area with Skerny.Oh do I wish I could do another Yukon journey...but certianly no complaints about the Loring area though,beautiful(as you know).The plan is to hit as many of those lakes as possible & see what we can catch.Skern & I leave on friday,portage in on saturday morning to Fox lake,make a base camp & then from there we have until labour day to explore & fish as many of the lakes we can get to,I think Mouse lake is on the schedule,haven't ventured that far in to the bush yet,so it should be fun.Big props to my doctor for suggesting I get away..although I dont think he had 2 months in mind,then again if I took better care of myself..etc etc etc,but given the issues (health) I have now (not cancer related) I figured this was one good way to get in better shape,lower those tryglcerides(sp?),chlorestorol & high blood pressure....& since I still have no "OK" to go back to work,I figured theres nothing keeping me here.Great thing is, the last week I have spent it with my brother who I havent seen since december 1997 (he lives in Scotland),he got in last weekend & its been such a great time,I guess I sorta forgot just how cool my bro is.Its also really cool to get some insight about the whole Afgani & Iraq wars from someone who was there & saw it first hand,in case people didnt know my brother works on fighter jets & is in the QRAF. secondtube Posted July 7, 2005 Report Share Posted July 7, 2005 i've been thinking about your trip all afternoon...basically very jealous....but i must ask, how are you staying in the bush for two months?i'd have to assume, once a week, you'll get mr birnie or someone to take you guys some supplies on the argo?i mean, you can only bring in so many cans of food, or even dried foods...you need oil if your cooking fish...you need water...you can only boil lake water for so long...i'm genuinly intreigued how your doing this...man...i couldn't imagine how AMAZING it would be to spend two months in the bush...especially there...but how are ya gonna survive?
