ollie
do you guys want a sports only forum here ? I'd love it I always laught when I go to the main page and remember that there's a forum for video games.
grateful_dave
The Penguins have won the chance to draft Crosby. I guess that means they will be staying in Pittsburg for awhile. can anyone say "fixed". you had to know that crosby was going to go to a respectable team that needs a super star to bring it from bankruptcy. and besides, mario could use the cash. b.s.- sabres shouldve had first pick! Jaimoe
If the Rangers would have won first pick, then the fix would be in. The Pens will still likely move ( with no new arena deal anywhere in sight ), Crosby or no Crosby.
Hal Johnson
I could see it gettin real ugly. Which would be awesome.
Hal Johnson
actually, a "sports only forum" would probably end up being quite the depressing place, what with all the Ottawa folks on here and all.
Booche
Not fixed at all. Not even CLOSE to the radar with that theory.
Jaimoe
In the scheme of things, Pitt, Anaheim and Carolina all deserved high picks - they are brutal teams.
Biggest Fan
Correct me if I am wrong but it would be nice to see Mr L and the penguins...

Biggest Fan
Born and grew up in Pittsburgh. Go Penguins.
Jaimoe
The Pens will have a good first and half-good second line. Beyond that, they'll be lucky to win 25 games.
SmoothedShredder
The Pens will have a better team than the Leafs this year.
boogieknight
The Pens will have a better team than the Leafs this year. Please.....the leafs are winning it all this year. no one will even remember the walk out once mr stanley returns to its home.
Jaimoe
The Leafs have little hope of winning the Cup thanks to the hard cap and contract problems with their core players. The Pens will have a team on par with Carolina and Florida.
badams
I think it's too early to determine which NHL teams will have the advantage this year. Boston for example only has 3 players under contract right now. In a couple of weeks after sufficient player movement we will be better able to judge. Booche
Well well well. Let the craziness begin:Pat Hickey reports Canadiens GM Bob Gainey will contact the Pittsburgh Penguins to explore the possibility of them trading the first overall pick, and the rights to draft Sidney Crosby, to Montreal. Gainey admits it's a long shot but feels it's a discussion worth having.Booche's take: There is no way the Habs would be willing to give up what Pittsburgh is obviously going to demand from them. At the same time, 'sleight of hand' them Gainey!
SmoothedShredder
Hmmm for Crosby? They'd have to give up Koivu and Soray... or one of those and two or three first rounders... Good Luck!~WMMmmmmmmmmmSenators!!!
rubberdinghy
All hell is gonna break loose in the next couple of weeks...No telling what shape any team is going to be in! Philly has already bought out Leclair and Amonte...Who's next? Jagr?Anyways...as for Ottawa...does anyone know what the deal is with Hasek? Did that fugger retire, or is he coming back...I think Ottawa should just buy him out if he hasn't. Marty and Ray can hold the fort IMO!
Booche
I'm willing to bet that they are going to let Hasek decide. Listening to the Team on the drive in this morning, Muckler was saying that they will not be buying anybody's contract out and there was some mild speculation he may go after both Gary Roberts and Messier with one year contracts. Florida was mentioned as a possible destination for Mess along with Edmonton. Who knows? Dudes forty-frickin-four years old!!!!!!
rubberdinghy
I heard about the Roberts deal too...that would be sweet ass, take that you Leaf fuckers!Actually just found Hasek's salary and he's a steal at 2.3 mill, after the rollback of course. Unrestricted Free Agents: Peter Bondra, Curtis Leschyshyn, Todd Simpson, Shaun Van Allen, Rob Ray.Please sign Van Allen...PLEASE!
badams
I'll give the Penguins Koivu, Souray, a lifetime supply of Smoked Meat Sandwiches and Booche for Crosby.
badams
Modano has mentioned he would like to play in Phoenix with Hull and Gretzky if Dallas can't come up with a good deal. Money being even however he would like to stay in Dallas.

Biggest Fan
The #1 failed rule that they over looked. 'A game misconduct' should be exactly that. I am not a big fan of fighting yet I do not think that you should make a rule against it. 'A game misconduct' would change the game in a major way without really changing anything.
