Your library of recordings will likely be pilfered as well I'm looking at an audio interface with midi support for my mac right now. It seems that something like m-audio gear would be VERY useful for my scenario. I wonder if Steve's sells them? I'm on bike today if I have to go anywhere, so the market area is my limit!
