headymamamyrna
Anyone on here know anything about a furnace motor.I had my furnace checked and cleaned this morning. Its only 7 years old.The motor is at the front and there is water leaking from it.He said it shouldn't as there is a pipe where it should go.A new motor is around six hundred dollars and if i decided not to get it done they'd have to tag my furnace.Any information you have I'd appreciate it.Thanks
Davey Boy 2.0
i just did a (very) quick internet search and couldn't find anything useful myrna.you'd definately want to call around and get other company's opinions and estimates and whether or not they might have a used motor to sell youwhat a pain in the derriere!!(I'll call jimmy tonight and see if he knows anyone that might be able to help you out)
CyberHippie
Do you have a humidifer on your furnace? Could maybe have something to do with that.
Freak By Night
There's no way a motor can leak water. The water is likely coming from (as Cyberhippie said) your humidifer, or air conditioner. The drain pipe for the water is likely blocked with crud. This happenned to my furnace recently and I used a coathanger and a shop-vac to clean out the drain pipe. If your motor is still runs, there is no need to replace it. Jaimoe
Headymama:I'm not sure she can help, but my mom's had lots of furnace problems over the past few years. I'm sure if you gave her a call, she may be able to provide some options for you. Good luck.
headymamamyrna
Thanks for the advice everyone. No I don't have a humidifier and the air conditioner isn't working. There is condensation though from a gas furnace and it shouldn't be coming out of the motor but it is i saw it myself. bouche
She does have a digital camera, but posting the pic here is another story. Did you try rebooting it or checking for spyware? That's usually the problem with .... errrr, wrong appliance.I have no ideas at the moment...nor do I have a furnace. We live of electric and have learned alot about heat in the last year....you can't live without it! Maybe we can talk Freak By Night into bringing a coat hanger out that way. What does 'tag my furnace' mean?
headymamamyrna
Tag my furnace means you can't use it until you fix what they say is wrong. They will report you to the gas company and then your gas will be shut off because of a faulty furnace! These new furnaces are high maintenance!Like I say try and tag me!! headymamamyrna
Paging Timouse to furnace thread instead of the Bouchards!!!Yes i do have a digital camera but it doesn't seem to help in this situation. No radiators or boilers just a gas furnace and a bit of vodka. That seems to help.I decided to grab the bull by the horns and say order a motor and come and put it in.I do feel good about your support though! Thanks!
