No Pretense No Bull This collective of individuals collaborate to make songs based on what they know. their lives Good/Bad/Happy/Sad. The Bass, Drums, Keys, Guitars, Raps, and Melodies paint pictures of diversity with each member coming from different spaces (geographically and mentally). SKYHOOK (Montreal, PQ) www.myspace.com/theskyhooksound Skyhook is a new band that offers up its mix of nufunk, electro and house, along with tendencies toward minimalism, drum 'n bass, and eastern sonorities. Quickly making a name for themselves and carving out a comfortable niche in the modern music scene, Skyhook gets the dance floor bumpin' but also offers up plenty of ear candy in the way of composition and improvisation. The goal is to incorporate electronics and danceable grooves seamlessly into a heady instrumental context where sonic playfulness and interaction still reign.
