Last Night, Nancy Pelosi was sworn in as the Speaker of The House and became the first woman to take that post. The evening was celebrated with many performances and included two sets from “Your House Band.†After being introduced by Richard Gere, Mickey Hart, Bob Weir, Bruce Hornsby, Bill Kreutzmann, Warren Haynes, and Mike Gordon took the stage for two energetic sets. The first was highlighted by a “Shakedown Street,†with Haynes on vocals along with “Truckin,†and “Touch of Grey†with Weir at the mic. The second set included Bruce Hornsby’s “The Way It Is,†as well as “Come Together†and “U.S. Blues†Gordon, Haynes and Hornsby trading verses. Ms Pelosi had the crowd up and dancing when Wyclef Jean joined the band for a spirited version of “Iko Iko.†The evening closed with everyone on stage performing Carole King’s “You've Got A Friend.â€

Doesn't this seem a little strange?

Doesn't this seem a little?

long... strange trip its been

definately a warm looking event after years of self-serving bad with the Repulicans running the house

unusual also that its looking like America's next president will either be a black man or a woman

considering the mess of things it definately feels time for a significant change of operations... an era of Democratic Deadheads might actually be of great help, all things considered

This is all part of Nancy Pelosi's elaborate inauguration week. Hometown (Baltimore), Washington, San Fran and on and on. There's been some criticism that she's taking too much of the spotlight but as the first woman speaker of the House it's a monumental occasion.

This was the San Fran night as you can tell. Pelosi comes from blue collar Italian background, mother of 6 but is no prude and attuned to let's say the history of San Fran. Wyclef and Carole King were the other musical guests so that's what the collab was about as well as of course Gere.
