Weirdness
I was keeping my eye on an Ann Arbour date for Sufjan, just noticed these dates:March 24, 2007 Toronto - Canada - Sneaky Dees % March 25, 2007 Ottawa - Canada - Zaphod's % March 26, 2007 Montreal - Canada - Friendship Cove % Looks like fun... phunkyb
Sneaky Dee's seems like it will be a small venue for Sufjan to play.
Jaimoe
I don't like Sufjan, but I can't believe he's booked at the relatively tiny Lee's Palace. His butterfly wings will be a tough squeeze on stage.
AD
Nope, that's for 'Castanets', another band on Asthmatic Kitty.
bradm
Is he OK with being recorded? (I checked the Live Music Archive, and he's not part of it.) March 25 is a Sunday, but I might be able to get to (and record) the Ottawa show.Aloha,Brad
AD
Nope, that's for 'Castanets', another band on Asthmatic Kitty.Just for clarification, Sufjan Stevens is NOT playing the dates mentioned in the first post above. Maybe change the title of the thread? Edited January 29, 2007 by Guest

ollie
So no Sufjan in Ottawa? Now I have to break the bad news to all the people I e-mailed.
shainhouse
I'd still go. Both Shapes and Sizes and Castanets are worth seeing.
TimmyB
If Sufjan Stevens was playing in Toronto on March 24, I would have been at the gig.Since this was an honest mistake and my hopes were quickly crushed, I'll be attending the Autumn Defense gig at the Horseshoe on Saturday March 24.The Autumn Defense are the duo of John Stirratt and Patrick Sansone. Stirratt being an original member of Wilco and Sansone who is now also a member of Wilco. This is what the Autumn Defense myspace page says about the band:Sounds Like: Bread, Cat Stevens, early Bee Gees, Colin Blunstone, Nick Drake, Simon and Garfunkel, Love, CSN&Y, Byrds, 70s Soft-Rock I would agree with those influences. I saw the Autumn Defense back in 2004 at the Horseshoe and they even covered the Byrds at the gig.Tim
AD
my boys The Frontier Index are opening for the Autumn Defense TimmyB. I hope you'll arrive early to see them. Perhaps even write a bit for the site? I'd be curious to hear what virgin ears think of them.

Blane
I can't believe he's playing Friendship Cove in Montreal. It's a loft/apartment for some musicians. I'd be surprised if it holds 100 people.

TimmyB
This thread needs to be closed. Too many people will think Sufjan Stevens will be coming to Toronto, Ottawa and Montreal when he is not.Tim Edited January 29, 2007 by Guest
