um, it's a highly subjective theme to start with, and yes one of the FEW rules is that it has to be have been made available by the artist. As far as I know, Diesel Dog have never actually COMMERCIALLY RELEASED this cover, nor has BNB commercially released their cover of Papa Was a Rolling Stone, nor the Fat Cats doing Groove is In The Heart, nero doing Hey You.... etc etc.

So if you want to stick to the theme, I guess it's gotta be a collection of 12 songs covered by Canadian jambands and perceived by at least one person to be better than the original. So, you'd be looking to list the original artist and the tune and then paranthesize the band doing the cover.

The 12 Song CD that would be hypothetically put together would have to contain the twelve original tracks, not the Canjam covers.

So, if I may undo the damage precipitated by my bathtime haste, may I then reprise:

(And sorry, MarcO; may I repay you in some way that doesn't involve late-night baths or lufa scrubbing)

Cover songs played by Canadian jambands that do better than the original.
