LJFH
A friend and I are planning to canoe/camp on a lake somewhere around Ottawa this coming weekend. I know about the usual (Gatineau Park) and Lake La Peche, but haven't been to any myself. Does anyone know of a good place or have good ideas for me as to where to go? AD
about an hour and 20 minutes north - Base de Plein-Air des OutaouaisI like it up there. Canoe around wherever you want, set up camp wherever you want. Cheap too.
Hux
To date scientists have confirmed the presence of approximately 8 cougars dispersed throughout the province. We're talking Quebec here? I can confirm there are more than 8.

AD
nope. i went up there with no info, just some crappy directions and had a blast. i *think* a summer camp operates out of the same Base, but am not sure. one of the google results that comes back is "Camp Air Eau Bois," which seems like it's the kids' camp.i found this infoCoordonnées32 ch. AD
watch for blue-green algae depending on which lake you go to. there should be a listing somewhere of what lakes are affected.
