Jaimoe
I heard it on MuchMusic via a recent L.A. Times interview with Jack. It boils down to Meg's acute anxiety which rears its ugly head on stage. This is sad news. I've seen them three times and consider their shows to be some of my most memorable concert experiences. At least they'll still be making excellent albums. There's always The Raconteurs. For all you fools that think Jack will tour with a "real" drummer, think again. It wouldn't be the same. Northern Wish
That would suck. Can I ask what Lefsetz might have to do with this?
Guest Low Roller
I would miss her bongos more than her drums.

Davey Boy 2.0
joking there really- but the root of it is that Lefsetz allegedly called the WSs a poor man's Led Zep, fwiw

phishtaper
This is sad news, but not unexpected. I agree, the Whites Stripes are were simply among the best live bands ever - much better than the Raconteurs (but I'll take that over nothing). Jaimoe
Ah, but The Raconteurs are only one album in and Jack has said that their new stuff is heavy. Plus, their ACC show was on fire.
phishtaper
apparently, the new album has been in the can for some time. they were just holding off on releasing it to allow the whites stripes to get more play. apples and oranges, for sure, but i wasnt anywhere near as impressed with the raconteurs live as i have been with the white stripes. Jaimoe
apples and oranges, for sure, but i wasnt anywhere near as impressed with the raconteurs live as i have been with the white stripes. I love The Stripes live and their albums better than anything by The Raconteurs. The Stripes are in my Top 10 fav bands ever. However, I'm really excited to see how The Raconteurs grow and branch out past their power-pop, bluesy Brit Rock influences of their first album. Jaimoe
If they are going to go out, giving all of Canada one last tour was the way to do it.
