I just up-ted the excitement - we're going on a trip to France in June for 10 days. yippe! Hey, I highly recommend that you verse yourself into some Frames stuff. A good intro is their excellent live album (full of sing-a-long anthems) Set List. Also, Glen and Marketa do a bunch of Frames tunes in concert. The Frames recent album The Cost is another good album to pick up. It contains their version of "Falling Slowly" and "When My Minds Made Up". Glen was part of The Commitements (one of my favourite music movies ever).
