young dutch designer patrick schuur has sent in images of his latest project 'cassette tape closet'.

the closet is built with 918 cassette tapes that are individually screwed onto a wooden frame.

it can be used for both an office space divider and storage closet.

I've prolly got over 600 XLII, XLIIS, MX (all my masters were on metal cassettes).

that thing would collect tonnes of dust.

my problem isn't just all the cassettes. i've got furniture specially designed to hold cassettes. nice solid wood, super well made. the drawers aren't deep enough to be much use otherwise. I've got one unit that holds 600 cassettes and another unit that holds even more CDs. the latter unit has false bottoms for cassettes on two of the drawers - I've removed one so far.
