Ol'Hickster
I hadnt had the time to get a couple ingredients to pull it off this weekend but i will forsure during the week, but I did try the cheap and easy way of just throwing them in to the pickle juice after youve eaten all the pickles, hopefully they come out okay

Thorgnor
I think they look awesome and I've never even had pickled eggs. maybe I'll make an attemp at a jar.
Ol'Hickster
Well I had the first one on thursday and It was a bit stong at first bite but then smoothed out they were pretty good! Im happy with how they turned out, I think though next batch I do I might change the ratio of Vinegars a little bit and put a little less white, and maybe a touch more galric adn a bit more of the spice, but they were good I had half a dozen yestereday So all in all I call this first attempt a success Perhaps Pickels are next in the works

Esau.
ahh, pickled eggs. Love em. Usually, due to laziness I just do the quick vinegar and water deal. But, in the past I've made spicy eggs, usually invovled a few chili peppers, peppercorns, whatever spices I had at hand and a whack of tobasco sauce (added after jarring).I never thought to try dark or cider vinegar before (makes total sense) - now I wanna make some.Nice job, great thread. bradm
Thanks, Davey. The Pilot House in Kingston had those on the menu, and my Dad loved them. :thumbup:I think you can also buy sausage meat on its own, as opposed to packed into the form of sausages, and I guess most flavoured ground meats would also work. The other key ingredients don't go in the eggs, but on and with them: a good sharp English mustard, and a pint of beer.Aloha,Brad Edited March 26, 2009 by Guest
