Kanada Kev
Last Curtis Loew - 8/2/93.NICE! On Friday night my neighbour was over and we were talking about that song. I mentioned to him that Phish used to cover it great, but it had been years (i didn't think it had been THAT long!)Looks like one helluva show tonight. Hartamophone
Just for formality's sake (the full setlist above was missing the last two songs of the first set):-----PhishFenway ParkBoston, MA5/31/2009Set 1:Sample in a Jar*Moma DanceChalk Dust TortureOcelotStashBouncin' Around The RoomPoor HeartLimb by LimbWading in the Velvet SeaDown With DiseaseDestiny UnboundCharacter ZeroSet 2:TweezerLightBathtub GinDavid BowieTime Turns ElasticFreeThe Ballad Of Curtis Loew**You Enjoy MyselfEncore:CavernGood Times, Bad TimesTweezer Reprise* Prior to the start of set one, Phish performed The Star Spangled Banner acapella from the mound.** Last Played 8/2/93 ----Show sounds great so far. As with Hampton, I like that they seem to be taking care of bust-outs early on. I see it as a "Alright, here you go, now let's get down to business" type of maneuver. Northern Wish
Unofficially, Phish also played Curtis Loew as a part of the soundcheck for Big Cypress on 12.29.99.....
Basher
They played it a lot at soundchecks.
Northern Wish
Yes they did.But to the heart of the matter, great show on paper at least. Fuck man a second set with Tweezer, Gin, Bowie, Free and YEM?! I'd take that anyday. Throw in a couple of new tunes, a rarity and some good ol funky Phish and I think we have the start of something really great here...No timings listed there, but the sets look far longer than the 59 and 71 minute set times we got used to in the post hiatus pre retirement period. Hartamophone
Awesome video Kev, thanks. Funny that the "hippie bus" that they showed actually belongs to the 12 Tribes cult that goes on tour to recruit vulnerable young'uns.
Schwa.
i had to go on board that fucking thing once and drag my buddy's fucked up ass off of it once....they were so creepy, telling me to let my friend make his own decisions and shit. That was 2002 at The Other Ones show at the Palace.
hamilton
I guess I first noticed this when I was looking at the photos from Hampton, but it is interesting to see that they have gone back to the old line-up with Fishman on the left instead of behind. I wonder what prompted the return to form? I recall concerns about not being able to hear each other properly being behind the previous reconfigurations.
