MoMack
Anyone know how close the Days Inn up there really is to the casino? The casino wants a ridiculous $400/night for normal rooms on the date of the show. I'm booked at the Days Inn for $129 in a smoking room - but want to make sure its walkable. They say it is.Never been to Rama - does it really suck for shows? Velvet
DO NOT STAY AT CASINO RAMA!!!Honestly, if you stay there the casino monitors your drinking - when their computers notice you've had more than one drink an hour security will accost you and insist on a time-out. They will even confine you to your room. I know it sounds impossible but I heard about it and then saw it first-hand.The casino is in the middle of nowhere with nothing else around it except the Days Inn, which is right across the street. MoMack
Cool - I'm booked at the Days Inn.So is the casino going to not let me drink period? I've never been timed before - but I know I'm quick with the beers.
phorbesie
make sure to pay in cash for your drinks. they are less likely to track you that way.and yes it does really suck for shows there. when i first decided to go to a show there everyone was like "it sucks there" but i thought "well i'll decide for myself anyhow" and yes, it sucked. hope it's better now for your show though! Velvet
If you're at the Days you're fine. If you stay at the casino itself you're not allowed to get drunk. We weren't staying at the casino and I got loaded and won $300 on roulette after the Allmans! deranger
My only time there was for the Allmans last year. They did let anyone who wanted to, go to the front of the stage and stand within the "designated" standing zone (clearly marked on the floor with a red line, as in, stand inside the red line or be accosted by security) though the entire rest of the audience were seated, calm as Hindu cows. Had I not walked straight into the standing zone, I would have been seated and really really pissed off (though the tickets were free). I'm planning on hitting this show up, and I pray we can stand within the "standing" zone.
MoMack
Wow. Thsi sounds like a pass all the sudden... too bad too because three things I've really grown to enjoy are 1 - booze; 2-gambling and 3- rock'n'roll.

But doesn't sound worth it.
Swan
its like going to a concert in a high school gym. I signed up for the players card on the day of the allman's concert and they comp'd me 2 tix. no booze is allowed in the concert arena. I can't see the crowes selling out so maybe some free tickets will be allotted to the players club. I didn't even put a quarter in the slots when I was there and they hooked me up with tickets.as for the hotel at the casino. its expensive but they don't monitor your drinking in your room. you could get gassed and walk into the concert at the start of the show. I had friend stay in the hotel and I think it slept 6 people comfortably.on the other hand the allman's was a very intimate show and I met Derek Trucks walking around after the concert. sometimes you have to take the good with the bad
c-towns
It sucks, you can't drink in the show but if you're lucky enough to get in the front standing section there is a chance you can sneak under the stage and burn under the band, the allmans must have wondered where the herb smell was coming from...I believe all of the hotels in town have a shuttle system running to the casino hourly.
