fluffhead77
Since this is a 8 minute walk from my house, maybe this would be a good time to see mr. Breit for the first time.
bradm
Hugh's Room also has a grand piano, which is a nice addition to the Sisters Euclid sound.Aloha,Brad

bradm
http://hughsroom.com/2011/03/the-sisters-euclid-with-kevin-breit/lists the door time as 8:30pm. I expect two sets, so maybe 9:30pm - 10:30pm, then 11:00pm - midnight or 12:30am?Aloha,Brad

bradm
Sisters EuclidFriday, June 10, 2011Hugh's RoomToronto, ONSet ISistersFrank And EarnestFatsPortly PearReverend's Hammer And NailsElevenSylvesterSet IITumbleweed TeaFellini SingalongGeorgeLucyRunning WildFaith ColaJudas IscariotLittle JohnEncoreHushunknown #1unknown #2All told, there was about two and a half hours of music; it started early (just after 8:30pm) and ended early (about 11:45pm), even with a two-part encore. They played every tune on the new record (which I have, and which is great), but didn't play any Neil Young (or any other cover) tunes, which is (I think) the first time I've (not) seen that at a Sisters Euclid show.Mark Lalama is fully on-board as a Euclidic Sister now. He's composed tunes for the band (incuding "Fellini Singalong"), mixed the new record, came out from behind the keys to sing one ("Eleven") and continually switched between his electronic keyboard, an accordion, and another squeezebox. The rest of the band looked pleased as punch to have him on stage with them. They're embarking on a jazz festival tour this summer, including the Ottawa Jazz Fest on June 27.Aloha,Brad

bouche
what's the deal with tickets for NAC 4th stage during Jazzfest? If you have a bronze pass, i assume you still have to buy a ticket for the Sisters.I heard there was something about lining up WITH a pass though. Cosmic ChrisC
For those who don't have a pass or any kind, I think you can just buy single tickets for the show right here. Seems pretty simple:https://tickets.ottawajazzfestival.com/TheatreManager/1/login&event=
