Rob Not Bob
Supertramp, Styx, and I believe Chicago are all still together, in some form or another. Chicago was good when they were Chicago Transit Authority, but not much after that. No real chance of them ever being good again since Terry Kath died. I was just thinking about how a friend of mine from high school loved Peter Cetera ... god, he had the most insufferably wimpy voice ever. Jaimoe
Actually, I used to love Yes, even the Trevor Rabin stuff. I'm just tired of their music. I've been listening to rock music for 30 years and some bands of the " classic rock " variety bore me nowadays. There's only so many times one can listen to Hotel California, Open Arms or Take It On The Run without wanting to blow one's brains out.

Mr. Musicface
Well Jaimoe ole buddy, sorry to burst your bubble but the following bands are all still together and touring in one form or another: REO Speedwagon - still touring minus original guitarist Gary Richrath and drummer Alan Gratzer Chicago - still touring with some line-up Journey - still touring minus Steve Perry Styx - still touring minus Dennis DeYoung and a couple of other members Asia - new studio album coming later this year minus Steve Howe and Carl Palmer Yes - just finished a tour with Anderson, Squire, Wakeman, Howe & White, the longest-standing line-up And I say GAWD BLESS 'EM, EVERY ONE! Fair enough - although I'd argue that at least REO and absolutely Yes meet that requirement on this list. - M.
Jaimoe
I'm tired of Yes, but they were an essential band that I really liked once. Any incarnation of REO Speedwagon should just go away. I liked them in Grade 8, way back in 198....

bradm
I did a crossword puzzle this morning, and one of the clues was "___ fan tutte"*, which brought to mind the album "Cosi Fan Tuti-Fruiti", by a band that no-one here's mentioned yet: Squeeze. I'd like to see the early line-up, with Jools Holland, get back and do some stuff. Difford 7 Tilbrook were the Lennon & McCartney of the new wave, and wrote such good songs (with great lyrics) with such good hoks, it's a shame they're not still out there; given the pop that's on the charts these days, we sure need 'em. Aloha, Brad * The word in question is "cosi"
Mr. Musicface
quote:Originally posted by bradm: SqueezeGood call! I saw them (I think) the last time they played in Toronto, on a weird bill at the Amp with Wide Mouth Mason & Great Big Sea(!), anyway they were terrific and it made me sad I never saw them at the Phoenix or somewhere like that since those were the type of venues they were headlining the last few years. - M.
