CyberHippie
At the National Jazz Awards. Good for them! I saw them once a few years ago and found them kinda boring. But I'd check them out again, maybe I just wasn't feeling it that night.
secondtube
chances are, you saw the Casbah show, and it was ultra boring... and i love jazz... but hopefully they'll come around again, and we can give them a second chance.
CyberHippie
Actually it was at the Horseshoe, and I generally don't enjoy shows there... The exception being those wonderful BNB/Fatties double bills from back in the day!
c-towns
I caught these guys two summers ago in Calgary and I went in with high expectations but I too found myself to be bored, to bored for the amount I payed too see them anyway. I think I would give them a second chance, but not for any more than what I already payed to be bored. peace.jamesd.
questcequecest?
boring, i concur. i saw these guys twice last summer. first opening for mmw, they were obviously overshadowed. and second, at the uptown waterloo jazz fest - their first set was boring, as seems to be the norm. their second set i recall was really good, but only about 20 mins long. i too would give them another listen. CyberHippie
Ok... So I guess the question is: "Who doesn't find Metalwood boring?"

c-towns
Sounds like nobody's too sure about these guys, better go see them again...
MarcO
Sorry, but the time I saw them at the Casbah I was really bored too.
Pablo Sanchez
they seem to have captured that elusive "tom cochrane" slot of the jazz world. Where their music is boring or nothing special but they're Canadian and have it relatively together so to satisfy can-con requirements. Saw them once. great players. (espcially the bass player as I recall) other than that, not too memorable.
hamilton
I thought they were pretty boring live, too - although I have one of their albums, and it's not too bad - not a classic or anything, but it doesn't suck.
PhishyK
I saw them at Steamer's in Victoria and thought they were actually pretty boring. The sax player was good though and I like the fretless bass.
