  1. Limited edition Beatles iPod It's kinda funny that they had to create a special iPod with Beatles music on CD since you can't get the Beatles on iTunes. I get the feeling that Apple, nor the Beatles have anything to do with this.

Last summer, Franti released the Yell Fire! CD and documentary film I Know I'm Not Alone, which captures guerrilla-style footage from his 2004 trip to the war zones of Iraq, Israel and the occupied Palestinian territories. And most recently the band released All Rebel Rockers, the album was recorded in Kingston, Jamaica, with reggae's most prolific production teams, Sly & Robbie (No Doubt, Alicia Keys, Sean Paul, Bob Dylan). In addition to speaking his mind through his music, Franti is also an acclaimed lecturer for social justice and human rights. He has spoken at many top universities, including Yale, Georgetown and Stanford, and shared the stage with the likes of Bill Clinton, Mohammad Ali, Michael Moore, Ralph Nader and Gloria Steinem. Historically, Franti has toured non-stop worldwide, early on with his group The Disposable Heroes Of Hiphoprisy supporting U2, followed by his band Spearhead performing with Ben Harper, The Fugees, Dave Mathews, Cypress Hill, Billy Bragg, Matisyahu and many festivals such at Glastonbury, V-Fest and Japan's Fuji Rock.

  10. Halloween officially moved to Nov.1st this year due to some astronomical timing. It's like a leap year. Also....Nov.2nd is the first sunday of November (duh). I think that means the clocks HOWL back 1 hour on saturday night.
  11. again.... floating dwarf chick. that was the best improvised act I've seen. attach a cute little fremale dwarf to a bunch of helium balloons and send her off into an audience. Instruct the audience to bounce bounce her around like you're at a phish show. now THAT is entertainment!

  13. great news. I met with The Murder Plans tonight and they are very psyched up to play that night. They'v e been promoting the show to their fans and scene pretty heavy. It's going to be a very incredible night of music.
  14. Acorn bread 1 cup acorn flour 1 cup white flour 2 tsp baking powder ¾ tsp baking soda 1 tsp salt 2 large eggs ½ cup or honey ¼ cup oil or butter 1 cup milk (buttermilk is best!) 1. Mix dry ingredients together. 2. Add all the rest of the ingredients and blend until smooth. 3. Pour batter into a 9x9 baking pan, or 10-inch cast iron frying pan 4. Bake at 375 for 25 minutes. 5. Serve hot with plenty of butter! Honey or maple syrup is good on it too!
