  1. Well, I just failed at retaining a 4 star for $60. What's the name of the site that gives you the prices that people are getting rooms for at specific cities?
  2. right on! I'm in for MMJ on the 17th. I just got photo credentials for the Montreal show.
  3. I think I saw The Acorn somewhere. They were pretty good if I remember correctly.
  4. wanna explain to me why my sandisk usb memory card hub won't show up on my mac? I have to plug my camera in directly in order to pull images off the sd cards. that sucks because I forget to turn off my camera once the photos have transferred and the battery discharges on me. Mike's taking on both sides now. Awesome. well fuck' date=' I am on both sides. I have a PC and a Mac. [img']http://www.adblogarabia.com/wp-content/ImAMacImAPC.jpg

  6. Sounds like your advocating people dump their PCs for a Mac. If not then I'll stop. In a sense, I don't see any advantage with a PC these days. For me, gaming used to be the advantage of having a PC, but since that world is mostly dead and consoles are the focus for gaming, I don't see any advantage with a PC. At least with a mac, there is a new sense of discovery and quite honestly, the packed in apps are quite fantastic. Garageband is great fun to play with and if you have any video, iMovie is pretty damn sweet. It's much better than windows movie maker now.

    IRON MAN

that movie is going to suffer in the shadow of Iron Man. I still don't understand why they are trying to make the hulk again. the CGI is way to obvious.
  8. Nice one! Velvet's study on people being murdered by cell phones should be published! here's an actual study to back up part of velvet's own study. However, I highly doubt that the number of cell phone related traffic deaths would be more than the amount of life-saving calls made to emergency call centers. more
  9. no one says you have to do anything. why is this coming down to whether or not you have to get a mac or pc? This has been about preferences and experiences. there are very big differences in the operating systems and even the basic hardware (between mac and pc) your point just fell over on it's own weak legs.
  10. U-Melt is a good fucking band. Check them out on Youtube.

    IRON MAN

Head of Shield See it here if you must. It definitely sets up some really exciting new possibilities if other movies are to be made this way.
  12. yeah, no kidding. But he did use BS as an adjective there. Rivalry suggests a two-way street where there was no street.
  13. And what did you say about Vista to me until you got that Acer? hmmm? You hated it without trying it. I told you that your feelings were unfounded and not really worth the effort to look for a laptop that shipped with XP. Vista is a fine operating and the online complaints are coming mostly from an anti-MS mob effect. Since you aren't speaking from a personal experience, leave the advice to those that have been working on both platforms, dinglenutz.
  14. interesting article on the smoking

    IRON MAN

my vote for best superhero movie ever is cast! concerning iron man II foreshadowing...are you speaking of the scene AFTER the credits have completely rolled through? We sat in an empty theatre to see what happens at the end of the credits. I read on the internet that we had to. Batman and Robin are old news now anyway.
  16. I'm sure Jaimoe won't let anyone get a word in edgewise
  17. why do I enjoy having a mac? I'm still a PC user. I still have a PC that is chugging along and running Vista. I have been an incremental upgrader since 1995. In '98 when videocards became the bottleneck for gaming, that's when things slowly went nutz. You'd upgrade your vid card, and then you needed more ram. A year later, the chip had to be replaced, and likely the mobo with it, and possibly more ram. The vid card was fine. Then a year later, new vid card and the cycle repeated. I was also always playing around with Microsoft development like VB, VB.NET, ASP.NET and running my own webserver for development and learning purposes. my pc is at a point where I need to upgrade the entire fucking thing to do anything smoothly these days. Vista is a hog for an AMD 3200XP processor. It was smooth when I first installed it, but it's not smooth now. That goes with the windows territory though. I got a mac a couple of years ago, and enjoyed the change. I didn't LOVE it, but since I was broken into and had to replace my previous mac with a newer model, I actually LOVE it now. the iMac is way better than my pc and there are no games for PC anyway so fuck upgrading it. Instead of learning anymore MS development, I began learning programming on the Mac using Cocoa to get ready to make shit on the iPhone. The new keyboard for the mac is the best keyboard I've ever used. It's really fucking comfortable. Basically, if you don't use your pc for gaming, you might as well use a mac. It comes with some pretty sleek software to begin with and if you're the type that looks for free shit on warez torrents, you can find stuff like photoshop for mac as well. I'm pretty much using the iMac for everything at home these days. should you upgrade to Leopard? YES. Leopard tricked me into getting an external drive to utilize Time Machine backup. Boy am I glad I did. When my mac was stolen, my external was left behind and I was able to recover my entire profile and personal media (wedding photos for example). Also, before my mac was stolen, the old imac (G5) was getting pretty sluggish. When I ran the upgrade to leopard, it acted like a new machine. I did find out that there is an expected performance improvement but I think it did some file optimization in the install as well. sorry for the nerd reply. but macs are worth owning.
  18. Sorry I missed this question. I will draw the winners this weekend. Likely tomorrow.
  19. And it would have cost you 50 cents too. Preach on brother Beavis! As well' date=' a lot of pay phones (like the ones on the bus platform at the Kennedy subway station in Toronto) don't take coins anymore, just credit or pre-paid phone cards.[/quote'] Seriously... way to screw over the homeless and disadvantaged. Fucking society. it's really expensive to get people to go collect the coins from machines you know. "they" (we hate they, remember?) are slowly getting rid of functional coins. our banking cards and credit cards will eventually control vending machines as well. Parking meters have been moving to coin free operation along with the telephones. We just went to the grocery store the other day and ms.hux used her credit card. She didn't have to sign anything. The fucking chip signs the slip for you now. freaky shit.
  20. that's scary. I'm with you. I have no cell, and I figure if I need to call someone, I can find a pay phone. The reality is that if I need to call someone, I can ask someone to use their cellphone.
  21. This is a reality shake right there. Basically, if you're more concerned with capturing the moment with a digital device that can't really experience the moment like your brain can, you're missing a fuckload of memories that are very powerful. Anytime I have managed to get photo credentials for a live show, I am very focused on getting the best pictures I can get and that means taking my focus away from the moment. A show that only allows photos for 3 songs is great because you are not allowed to use your camera after those tunes so you actually enjoy the show. However, when I've got my camera gear and I don't have to put it away, I really really really have to force myself to put it away or I'll just run around with my camera the entire night and realize later that I've not fully experienced moments that I should have. Cellphones allow people to get distracted as long as they have memory. But the quality that you get out of these things isn't really worth the effort for the most part. However, I am glad that this technology is around, because there have been some great Youtube vids posted from things that you would never have seen any sort of video come out of.
  22. Nope, i'm not saying that you're retarded. To quote me: really only means that the scenario is retarded. Just don't believe a retarded scenario.I said what i had to do with phishsanctuary. don't you go trying to put words in my post, because that would be retarded. Going from the time I bought phishsanctuary.com to transitioning to jambands.ca is a long story and a lot of work that doesn't pay anything. I don't really feel like posting it all since there are other things I can be doing like setting up some chicken drumsticks and thighs for an overnight jerk marinade so I can bbq them slowly tomorrow for a killer dinner.
  23. first of all, if you don't really know the facts, you probably shouldn't be typing. if you were 'told' something, that doesn't make it a fact. There seems to have been a spin put on things that isn't really aligned with reality to say the least (and really unrelated to the topic at hand). To be clear on one point, the only people that had any stake in phishsanctuary.com was the sole stakeholder, myself. i paid the bills, developed the site and spent all my free time programming asp pages and a database and interface for users to manage shows. I dropped that when I decided to consolidate all kinds of features into the forum. but that's all there is to phishsanctuary history. For anyone to imagine a different scenario is retarded. So there you have it plain and simple. to clear that up, there is alot of work that has been done (ongoing) with SEO (search engine optimization) to ensure that engines like Google keeps Jambands.ca ranked as high as possible. It takes a lot of work to direct material for review and tickets for concert reviews around and then to ensure that there is content delivered and then published and that is a big part of not only providing something for the community but also within the SEO activities that I would have to perform as well. A domain doesn't get ranked on Google without content or it's relevance. Anyways, I suggested something about giving a place for the homeless without someone having to work out a site. If that was a dumb idea fine. I don't know what made Jaydawg steer off that gesture. Forget I mentioned anything. Please go back to your regular scheduled programming.
  24. you don't need a 12 megapixel camera. If that is the only selling point or difference between a cheaper 6-8 megapixel, don't bother. That's overkill for a point and shoot. Do you plan on printing posters with every picture?
  25. I'm still confused on the need. all the functionality is right here. The lack of Ontario content and participation comes from the fact that this site was established and grew in Ontario before jamhub existed. I don't know who rallied east coast people together into jamhub but if the site is neglected, doesn't that mean that a community was neglected along with it? If there is a need for an established site infrastructure for an established east coast community... it's right here on your screen.
