  1. I've had that same issue for a while now on my laptop. but what all the others said - glad it's back. I've had no internet at home for over two weeks (welcome to France), so it's been hard to keep up with things.
  2. i so badly wanted to see Bruce. been way too long. ditto for steve earle.oh well....
  3. a great show and a pleasant diversion from a very stressful week of packing and moving. Great to see a bunch of you, if not all too briefly. We leave for Paris on Monday. As much as I want to go to the folk festival, there are just still too many things to get done. and i desperately need some sleep. See y'all in two years! And if you are ever in Paris let me know.
  4. that's good to hear. i've had about 5 hrs of sleep over the last two days. any idea what time they are starting?
  5. that's at least the way it comes across to me. I think that's why that scene kind of freaks me out.
  6. actually, you can take the kitties in the cabin with you. no need to drug them. you just need a small carrier that fits under the seat. it's moot anyway as the landlord confirmed no pets. So, they will be living in Alymer for two years. We'll be in France. They will be in Quebec. We can all work on our French.
  7. i grabbed tix from ticketweb. how is the show not sold out? marco sold the place out by himself.
  8. thanks - it's much appreciated. we have, however, found somebody to take them. (Now I'm trying to see if there is any way we can take them, as I'm really gonna miss them.)
  9. when are you back? and will you be in Ottawa? we've got two questionable possibilities right now. A neighbour who likes cats, but her husband has issues with cats. If they cause any trouble (like jump on counter, which they don't generally do, but you never know) things won't go well. The other maybe have a son who has tested positive for cat allergies, although he's never had any issues being around cats. If they decide to take the cats they won't know if there are any issues until after we leave as the kids are away visiting their grandparents until the day before we leave. So, we have two maybes, but they both may end up as temporary homes. There has to be a cat lover out there that can provide a loving home for these two kitties.
  10. this seems to be a trend. unfortunately, this one resulted in deaths. http://www.thestar.com/news/world/article/1039255--4-dead-after-stage-collapses-at-indiana-state-fair?bn=1
  11. We are moving to Paris, France at the end of the month for two years (I will be working at the OECD). The apartment that we are renting won't allow pets. So, we need to find a home for Althea and Lilly for that time. They are 5 year old grey (short-haired) tabby sisters. They are very loving and friendly kitties. How many cats do you know that will roll over on their back and have you rub their belly? That is Althea. They have never been separated so we want to keep them together. We will pay for food and vet visits.
  12. I was thinking that as I was typing that post. but still, I'd rather not give the extra $s to ticketweb/ticketmaster if I don't have to.
  13. any chance tickets will be available at the venue, or elsewhere ahead of time? I'd like to avoid the ticket service charges. tix end up being $18.50 there.
  14. just saw a press conference. 3 injures - all now released from hospital.
  15. that was my first thought as I saw the stage go down. I was hanging out close to the stage, and my kids were near the sounboard on a blanket. I noticed it getting dark really fast, and then felt a raindrop. I got back to the blanket as soon as I could. we were getting our stuff together, during some crazy winds, when I turned around to see what was happening on the stage and bang, it just went down from right to left, and a bit backwards. At least it didn't go into the crowd. But that was very scary.
  16. cheap fucking trick tonight!! it's criminal that they are only getting 60 minutes, but I will be enjoying all of it (well, except for the flame, cause that song still sucks). courtyard hounds should be really good. they are the dixie chicks, minus natalie maines. very talented, bluegrassy music.
  17. Those guys were great. stage diving at jazzfest!
