Do not miss Plaskett right now!!! I saw him at the Office last night and he commanded the room like a champ. So quick on his feet, full of emotion. DO IT!

Thanks everybody for the op's!
!!
I have just returned from the dealership with alot to think about.
I have owned. I have loaned. And now I'm leaning towards the lease. It's cheaper, I may need something different in 4 years and I've built in an extended km's package that will give me 100,000 km.
oh and Jaimoe, it starts with an M and ends with a 3 and has a azda in the middle.

I'm curious because it is potential new car time for me. I've always bought but I'm flirting with leasing. Weigh in with your always heady advice, skanks.

Hey Chris, have a great one! Kiss Old Sam for me and next time I'll bring the back-up, nom-SAYIN...

Arcade Fire has been the most constantly played album in my world since its arrival (and to think on first listen I really wasn't impressed) Three listens = love
The Soft Bulletin is still my favorite Lips album. A must own.
BIG fan of the new Bright Eyes.
Ditto for the Shins. Love both those albums.
Guero is good and fixing to be better in warmer weather.
My dislikes include : Secret Machines - I'd like to see them live but their disc just made me want to listen to Zep or Floyd, not its gangly love child.
Fiery Furnaces did not turn my crank at all.
Other recent thunbs downers - Futureheads, Aqualung and Hot Hot Heat
Other recent thumbs uppers - Kasabian, Razorlight
Other on the bubble - Bloc Party, Kaiser Chiefs
Hope that helps.

There is nothing better in my universe than knowing all I have to worry about is drinking two cups of coffee and making my way through the Globe and Mail.

Again, while handcuffs are extreme, I think there is a piece of the puzzle yet to be examined here.
This is America, home of million dollar lawsuit. The report I saw on the television, with video leading up to the event, showed two teachers trying to calm the girl, but being VERY careful to avoid physical contact. Now I specfically don't know how it works down there, but up here, we are not supposed to touch a student in anyway, even breaking up fights. A teacher at my school faced charges and discipline for grabbing a kidss shoulder to stop him from walking away with a lit joint. I'm hypothesizing that the cops were called because they were the only people who could legally restrain her.
Still, it is sad to see, no doubt.

Come ON! Joke's over. I refuse to leave the house until that white shit is gone.

If you feel like throwing your brain in a blender for an hour and a half, try Primer, out this week. Shot for $7000, this one's definitely worth a repeat viewing, just to go back to catch things you should have caught before.
Warning: This is a time travel movie and gets a tad hard to follow at times but I want you folks to watch it so we can theorize.
I think I'm going to watch it again right now.

June 2058 at the age of 84 of cancer. Funny, that's actually what I saw when I looked in that old witches eye.........

Lookin forward to tonight in L-town. Hope there's a good crowd. Anybody else going to be around tonight?

Man, it's nice already. The school can't turn the boilers off yet so things are going to get sweaty around here.
We could get our first thunderstorm of the season as well. I LOVE THUNDERSTORMS!
How bout you?

Just a note to say great night on Saturday.
Thanks to BNB for another smokin set. You guys truly are on top of your game right now. That Chevron was disgusting! It was nice hanging out after too.
Thanks to Guigsy for the afterparty. Glad we could have fun, even when you were swimming out in the deep end.
Thanks to all who came out. Good to see so many folks come down for the show. London needs the suppport.
Thanks to Sammy's for the gyros.

Honestly, I think it speaks more to the homebase of this here website. Its humble origins lay what, about 3hrs from Higher Ground? It is a viable venue for many who post here. I'm sure no slight intended. If anything, it's sort of an pisser to those of us that are so far away from it (see Stone Mountain or Solargarlic for details)

Tom Green should talk! Here's a guy that has made a CAREER out of "pushing too hard" and "mean". I fully understand the cancer sensitivity thing and I like Tom Green but come on. I'd say put it in perspective to your career.

I want Friday today! After seeing the boys at the Riv two weekends ago, I couldn't be more pumped.\

To my darlin sister, it was great to see you this past weekend (smile, only two months until June, then Bluesfest, then GB.....). I hope your extended birthday is as good as the rest has been. You deserve it.
Have you done your art piece yet?

PLASKETT - LONDON - TONITE!!!
in Soundboard
Posted
Last night was one pleasant surprise after another. People in town I didn't know about. Peter Elkas was excellent for what we saw solo and with Joel. Mr Plaskett had us from hello. I'm a newbie to the Thrush Hermit stuff but all tunes were delivered with full emotion and energy. The stripped down sound really really let Joel's ability as a wordsmith and songwriter stand out. Impressed!
By the way, school sucked aaaaaaassssss today. Still a little fuzzy by the time the first bell went off. Good to see everybody last night. We'll have to do'er again.
