LSD No Hitter Dock Ellis' LSD-Fueled No-Hitter Immortalized In Todd Snider's "America's Favorite Pastime" Just in time for opening day, Todd Snider shares one of the wildest stories in baseball history on "America's Favorite Pastime," a song from the upcoming album The Excitement Plan (out June 9, Yep Roc). The song is inspired by the true tale of Major League Baseball player Dock Ellis, who pitched a no-hitter while high on LSD in 1970. Snider says, "He showed up to work completely prepared for something else entirely and yet, still did a great job at the job in front of him giving ill-prepared people everywhere someone to look up to."
