I wish I was there. I loved what I saw of the webcast on Sunday night!

I sent Dave a letter back in high school after a particularly shroomed out night listening to his music. I was trying to convey the intense experience I had the night before and how his music had taken me higher. I got a letter in the mail about 6 weeks after that with a couple of Rheos stickers and a one line letter: "Look at all the happy stoners." I've been waiting since 1993 to lay that line back on him and got my chance after reading this story. I wonder what he will reply this time.

I listened to Bradm's Montreal recording on my drive (to Grand Bend bouche) yesterday and it is as DaveO stated: the heat. WOW! Thanks again Brad for taking record of these shows.

Its identical to last year except I allowed for 20 teams instead of 10.

Good work on all of those reviews Velvet. And for the commenter- the levels at main stage were discussed many times but the headliners front of house staff overruled festival staff a few times resulting in too much bleed. I snapped one fairly good picture of the Levon Helm Band with special guests during The Weight: And got to meet many of the artists, including Tom Morello!:

We had the whole stage stuck and the truck packed by 12:05!

The living room area at the front of that bus wasn't that big- and the whole band was in there. The rest was bunks and the crew area in the rear. I'd say there is near 100% certainty that he got it.

There as a point during The Way It Is where Bruce was commanding the band through hand and facial signals and the whole band erupted into laughter and smiles- I wasn't sure what had happened or is they were just getting off on the groove. When Bruce left the stage with his band they were all still laughing and he grabbed his drummer in a big walking hug and told him "You saved my ass during The Way It Is"- to which the drummer replied, "Wow I thought you saved my ass!". It was a refreshing moment that reminded me that this band was really in the moment and it was not a totally rehearsed and timed set.

Drive By Truckers, Fruit Bats, Hold Steady, Bruce Springsteen. Those are the ones I just can't live without.....

For cookie cutter hotels, where you get what you'd expect from a top hotel- I always rely on the Fairmont chain. Specifically the Turnberry Isle Resort in Miami, and the Montebello Lodge in Montebello, QC- have blown me away. For those out of the way, boutique type hotels you mention- The City Hotel in Fredericton has themed rooms that are pretty hilarious. Try the Horny Buck or the Austin Powers room for maximum enjoyment.

While I also enjoy the Phish version, its a bit of overkill right now. Infact the amount of covers being played in relative high frequency is overkill IMO.
