I wasn't there personally, but my long time, long running moe.down friends didn't have too many good things to say. The worst parts from what I heard: 1) Walk from your car to camp with gear 2) Walk to the venue from camp I won't be going- I am doing The Truck Festival the following weekend just down the road. And I won't be doing any more Phish till 2012 (personal choice).

If you look closely in the mess ( you can't see it on the photo) there are lots of equipment boxes everywhere- and not just from Cheap Trick, but also a huge stack from DCFC SEATTLE (Death Cab for Cutie). They've had four cops posted there since the incident: looter prevention?

Don't forget your long distance plan there too! I put on a US Text plan for 30 days which cost me $24.95. This was a great idea and I avoided any significant charges (other than the $25)- BUT it did mean I had to have my phone on to use, and I could not turn off calls. I received approx. 12 phone calls that I answered while at Watkins Glen will be costing me approx. $80. For $30 I could have added a US calling plan too, but didn't think that was neccesary :-( FACK THAT!!!

I just signed papers that will result in my working out of the Grand Bend area for the next little while. I'm going to be doing the drive from Ottawa to Grand Bend and back more than a few times, and wondered if anyone had any cool/ local things to do along that route, nearby or right in Grand Bend? Especially anything I should be seeing/ eating/ doing on the last leg from Cambridge to Grand Bend. Its at about that point I will be seeking distraction... Thanks folks!

I agree on this point, and voiced that exact sentiment to Freaker at the main stage area about 10 minutes before the collapse. It was obvious to me that the music should stop for a while and clear that stage. If they really had someone monitoring this specific weather situation the best thing would have been instead of doing those introductions and letting Cheap Trick start- to advise people then that there was some weather headed our way and that they would resume after that. I know it makes for scheduling nightmares, but this had the potential to be so much worse. Hindsight'd.

While we can likely never be sure, does it sound to anyone else as though the good folks at TMZ boosted the levels of some of those screams? I thought I had seen that vid a few times at least, and none of them sounded like that.
