  1. Oddly enough I made the 'mistake' of leaving both of these playing. The unintentional Reddish Moon/ Chasing Rabbits mash up was AWESOME!
  2. When the first bass note hit and my hat literally almost pounced off of my head- all of my worries about the sound were put to rest. I have never ever experienced a bass note quite like that first one last night. Now I can imagine what that brown note is that people refer to. YT: Maybe it was that plate of "fries" that threw you off?
  3. I think that is my 4th or 5th time seeing them, and despite the festival setting and a need for a truncated setlist- I think that is the best damn performance I have seen them lay down. Woo!
  4. I'm almost certain that Nathans problem does not lie completely with that singular past conviction. I think I have heard 2 or 3 stories on his live recordings outlining different run ins with the law including that incident at HSMF. In addition to that I believe he has been nabbed more than once trying to cross illegally (once was during the recording of the In Montreal SMMD e.p.) I think that will get you in a pretty big pile of shit, but luckily I don't have personal experiences to draw on here.
  5. Not only for its looks, but for its intrinsic ability to break the will of every one of us who vowed to take it easy last night.
  6. In a Ryan Adams/ Beauties kind of way- which is fine by me. Different strokes.... Maybe you just needed a floppy bottle full of Glenlivet 12.
  7. Hey guys, an old friend of mine from tours past is one of only two entries into the moedown commercial contest. If you have a second and could throw down a vote to help him out it would be appreciated..... http://www.crowdtogether.com/make-moedown-Commercial He is jabo_the_great. Unfortunately this does require a site sign up.... Thanks!
  8. Although I agree, and the filled gopher hole is testament to the drinking that took place, the fact remains: "This video is private"....
  9. IMHO The sound for The Funky Meters was sub standard and created less than the perfect enviro. Huey was top notch. Josh Ritter was completely sublime. If you missed it, I'm sorry for your loss.
  10. Sweet! Plus I thought you were crashed on my couch.....Glad you made it home.
  11. This show got top billing at Pinehurst last night. Thanks Marcus- sick shit right there!!!
  12. If anyone finds themselves with extras for tomorrow, the 13th or the 16th- I'm in need.
  13. And I am still in shock that managed 19 cover songs, and yet they didn't play Y.E.M.
  14. Thats the worst part: two of the most vocal women were standing next to their empty lawn chair which was lying open. If there were a few hundred more of those then I can see how the main stage area appeared to be so packed. Make up your minds people!: you want a chair to sit in; or you want to stand. You shouldn't be able to have both.
  15. On my setlist notes I actually had My Friend My Friend denoted with *dark and dirty, and I would certainly include the C+Painless on that list too. Great to see everyone!
  16. I'll start by saying the new set up didn't really bother me at all. I sold a ticket, breezed in, got my ID bracelet and a beer all within 10 minutes. The movement from stage to stage seemed fine by me. I did however really miss the West End entrance- I just can't figure out why its gone and why they can't put it back. But if that is the only complaint for a $15 night of David Clayton Thomas, The Sheepdogs, Girl Talk and Steve Miller- I'm good. DCT gets another nod from me- totally excellent! While I thought The Sheepdogs music was good, their stage presence was lacking. Girl Talk was fun as hell if you like that kind of thing, and I certainly did last night. By the time I seperated with my crew to find french fries to absorb some of the booze, there as no way to get back into the crowd. DO NOT try to navigate through an older headliner/ older crowd. They were pushing back and being very pissy about letting people move through. Steve Miller was himself and the crowd lapped it up. We've all heard his killer songs 1000 times before and its just good time rock n roll.
  17. Simple>Bug w/ Third Stone teases:
  18. I know it's off topic but thank you for clarifying the fact that it was a LOCKOUT and not a strike. It baffles my mind that people automatically portray a work stoppage as a strike. Anyways...you got it Ollie...through the museum! You used to be able to go through the cafeteria too' date=' but not sure if that's an option anymore. [/quote'] I know the difference between a lockout and a strike- I was quoting the Bluesfest post: Cisco Ottawa Bluesfest said: Due to the postal strike many ticket purchasers selected the will-call pickup option and therefore our will call was backed up at the box office. We are making changes and will get people in more efficiently. We apologise for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience.
  19. Now that was fun! Thanks to all who shared a beer or a smoke with me. The band was tight as hell IMO. Great cover choices, some nice jams and some good bust outs. Those were my 56 thru 58th dates that I have seen Phish and I got 11 first timers. Eleven!
  20. BF posted an apology on facebook this morning blaming the clusterfuck on the number of people who chose the will call option vs. mail due to the postal strike. In these heady times of bar codes, surely they knew how many tickets were in the hands of buyers and how many still had to be picked up.
  21. I am putting the final items into the truck and we'll be hitting the road within an hour. I'm like a kid at Christmas who barely slept and won't notice it until 4pm this afternoon.
  22. Done. What a team- that is truly impressive! Anyone want a free footie from DB?
