  1. This is the first in a long series on concerts I should be going to but aren't because I go to too many concerts.

I'm so sorry this happened to you guys. And a double whammy too. I'm very glad you have insurance.
  3. So, who's going? Another question - I assume this festival has onsite camping. Can anyone confirm?
  4. Think I might go. Do you know if you can get day passes or do you have to buy a ticket for the whole shebang?
  5. By the way, taping is allowed.
  6. Okay, it's really dance/punk, but whatever... Mike Sasso and guests at the Mercury Lounge, Saturday, February 16, early show at 8pm DJ set with live instruments. Wacky covers in a smooth environment. I'll be at April Wine, but if classic Can-rock ain't your thang, maybe Sasso is.
  7. Nope, just a vain attempt at vanity.
  8. I'm looking for feedback re my band - myspace.com/suburbansmith
  9. Hey all. I got an email from a friend who plays in Leavin' Train, who you might remember from opening the Ottawa Kruger Bros. show. They have their CD release happening tomorrow. Here's the info if you're interested: February 8, 2008 - 9pm Start Leavin' Train CD Release Party! 1077 Bank Street, Ottawa, ON (corner of Bank and Sunnyside across from the Mayfair Theater) Yeah!! Finally! We are having our CD release party on Friday, February 8th at The New Bayou.
  10. At the 3 Jimmys Mike told me that tonight wasn't Parade, but a Mike/Lindsay show. If I remember correctly.
  11. No, they turned on each other in the article.
  12. Metallica is one of the tightest live bands out there, and they display a fair sense of humour in their live shows taboot. Granted, I haven't seen them since the infamous Playboy interview.
  13. Terry Riley's IN C is pretty much always a good listen.
  14. I spent two summers working as a music librarian assistant for the National Library and though it was an okay job, there was no listening to music at work.
  15. People are ugly and gross.
  16. Don't expect the police to do anything. One time my place got broken into and the guy stole a few hundred cd's. I found some of them at a used place within an hour of the break-in. The cd place had the dudes address but wouldn't give it to me. I waited at the store for an hour for the cops to show up. They said that they knew the guy and he lived near me (and thus near the cd store). They said they'd get on it as soon as they could. Strangely, when they went to the person's house two weeks later they couldn't find any of my cd's and didn't charge the guy. Getting robbed sucks, and I feel for you guys. I found the most disturbing part of getting robbed were the unreasonable, uncharacteristic, and unstoppable images of revenge that kept scrolling through my brain.
  17. I promise I won't sing along this time.
  18. Neither of us got responses either, but they said they had more people than they usually have. I guess it filled up pretty quick.
