  1. He played Blue Skies this year in Porkbelly Futures. I think you were watching their set with me.
  2. Ah, well then I've enjoyed him live, and have one of his books. Sad news.
  3. Is he in Pork Belly Futures?
  4. I would not presume this is over. This is a judgment by a Justice of the Peace. I suspect an appeal is imminent, with several further levels of appeal available thereafter, too.
  5. Agreed. Not a chance. That said - shame on W/B for building that idiotic "Peak to Peak" gondola, at a cost of a zillion dollars, which opened up not a single iota of ski area as a result. Surprising news? A little; just a little.
  6. If I went with that standard, I would have nothing to do.
  7. Personally, I'd probably just go with the name "Mere Puffery", but don't let me quell your creativity.
  8. You did nothing wrong, anyway. This falls under the rubric of "mere puffery". It's advertising to the public; not a contract with each person who buys a ticket to the show.

    Haiti

This is sort of old news, since the kids have made it back into Canada, but the email here is pretty good to see a first-hand account of Haiti, through the eyes of a Canadian who landed there 45 minutes before the disaster: http://www.bclocalnews.com/kootenay_rockies/castlegarnews/breaking_news/81795982.html
  10. Interesting little discussion here...
  11. Typical entertainment industry. They're just rehashing in animation some old material from the days Todd was portrayed as a puppet. I do think Todd should adopt their slogan as his own, though: "Very silly. Very smart."
  12. Why is this posted? Maybe I'm too dumb to get it, but I've read this five times and learned nothing other than that Jason from EOTO doesn't lock his cell phone. Is there some hidden message of interest here?
  13. With Trey going for upwards of $100k US I wouldn't consider the 'promoter' guys the people who would set up Trey - we are music business people not drug dealers! I can tell you that I personally know of, at least, one promoter (not you) who has fulfilled both roles for famous people. (At least that is what he/she told me.) In one case, it was the only way the show would go on (and in fact the only way the artist would leave his tourbus). I'd be very surprised if Trey couldn't get into Canada.
  14. I am aware. I was there the day before yesterday, but I have a toddler and newborn at home. Leaving town, ever, is rare and requires a special reason. Mutabaruka is not enough.
  15. Oops. Missed this one. Happy birthday!
  16. Ya. That new year's show was actually, truly unbelievable to witness. I vividly remember the moment after that show, when "Here Comes The Sun" came on, and hundreds of thousands of people were sort of - silent.
  17. We were talking about arts and crafts to do with our daughter, who is just getting right into that age. I mentioned we should get her "Shrinky Dinks". Then it occurred to me - the last time I saw a Shrinky Dink (I just love the name) I was too small to use the oven to make them myself. Do they still exist? Did their name change? I know I'm not the only one here who knows of these, but the last time I saw one was in the 1970s, so I suspect they're no longer on the market. Any idea
