awesome! 12 lives saved... part of my v-day distaste is due to the fact that i dislike cut flowers (why not give a living plant??), boxed candies (more packaging than food) and especially cards (DIY ones are better though). it's just an emotionally fuelled "celebration" that results in more frivolous useless purchases than any other holiday. At least a christmas, people can and do give gifts that people need. Because my love for my girlfriend exceeds my hatred for valentines day, I will give her something on Sunday. But it will not be anything valentines related, and especially not anything that was specifically manufactured for the sole purpose of being purchased on valentines day, that's for damned sure! happy thanksgiving!

no. hallowe'en is a chocolatey excuse for a holiday. valentine's is the most commercialized, most "emotional blackmail" of them all. worse than christmas. it's the money-grubbing holiday equivalent of the wedding industry. the best holiday is thanksgiving. it's all about getting together for food and fun. no fucking presents.

i have never had trouble getting my kid to go to sleep. he goes out to the back yard for a quick pee, then sometimes a cookie, and then he curls right up on the floor and sleeps through the night. unless he hears a cat or a raccoon outside...

the problem with laugh tracks is they disrupt the flow of what would be normal conversation between characters... which becomes painfully obvious when it's removed but it also makes the removal of them not really an accurate gauge of the humour. I mean, if they hadn't inserted them, the jokes might still be funny if the timing was corrected to remove the gaps that they had to insert for the laughter... if that makes sense but it's still fun to watch those edits
