I think these guys have a shit ton of potential that hasn't been fully realized yet. It's the frequent cringe-worthy lyric that has stopped me from fully diving in.

Tame Impala got moved to Metropolis almost immediately after the show was announced.

Who was the band that had the Thursday night residency at the same time Nero had Tuesdays? Was it the Frank James Experiment? Those guys were awesome.

Sometimes life would be easier if everyone knew and adhered to that system.

I was surprised to find this sold out when I arrived at show time last night. I saw the Walkmen in a smaller venue 2 years ago and it was far from sold out. Waited about 20 minutes out front before finding an extra, so I miss almost half of the Misty set. They were full band and full of awesomeness. Really enjoyed what I saw of their set. Walkmen were great too. Especially the new songs, which means I should really revisit their latest release.

Second question - anybody know if Father John Misty tours with a band, or is just Tillman solo?

Anybody planning to check out this tour tonight/tomorrow in Montreal/Toronto?

Highlight for me this year was Divine Fits at the tiny Il Motore as an Osheaga after-party, followed by Tame Impala's set at Osheaga itself. Other memorable shows were Springsteen at Scotiabank Place, Radiohead at Bell Centre and the couple times I saw the Wooden Sky. Probably the most intense (but not necessarily great) show I experienced was the Tim Hecker and Stephen O'Malley (Sunn o)))) drone-fest at St. James United Church as part of MUTEK. http://exclaim.ca/Reviews/Mutek/tim_hecker_stephen_omalley-st_james_united_church_montreal_qc_june_2
