  1. We were just downtown guelph and there was a line out the door. Now it all makes sense. I didn't think Harvey's was that popular.
  2. I think the ticket price was way too high for this show. It comes to almost $53 with SC at ticketmaster. We got ours at rotate this but I still think the high price will turn off a lot of people. I assume poor ticket sales and is the reason the venue was changed. Has anyone been to a show at Ricoh. I really can't see the sound being better than at Kool Haus.

  4. That's funny AD That would definitely fit the post about the strangest billing. I saw Trooper way back at Rock and Roll Heaven in TO, long after their prime.
  5. I just saw this on TM and wish I had heard about it sooner. I wanted to go to hamilton but won't pay $50 plus SC to see them in an arena. I think I might pay that much to see them at the Elmo.
  6. It was a sad day yesterday. I will definitely miss Artie but this has been coming for a long time and I don't think anyone could have stopped it.
  7. On saturday for the stars, we were lined up around 6:15-6:30, maybe 25 people in front of us. The doors did not open on time at 6:45. The only people I saw go inside at first were friends and family of the bands. Then folks running the show made an announcement that anyone on the band's or the label's lists were asked to go line up on the Berkeley side of the entrance. The RSVP list stayed on the other side. We waited some more and then the industry line got to go in. It was quite a big line and I was wondering if we would even get in at that point. It took quite a while but eventually we got our wrist bands and got to go in. I think we waited until at least 7:45 before we got to go in. I think everyone who was lined up eventually got to go in even thought they made it sound like there wasn't much room left when we got our wristbands. We had a great time standing right in front of the bar Islands were OK, not familiar with them. Stars were good, would like to see the HDvideo of this as the camera shots we could see looked better than the real thing. Had a fun night with Groove Fetish, Weirdness and Phishtaper.
  8. Picked up a ticket for this yesterday. Saw them at the New Orleans jazz fest and they were perfect on a hot sunny afternoon.
  9. Basher, thanks for the heads up on these shows. I got a confirmation for the MMJ show on monday. Can't wait.
  10. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but I just got word that Ryan is sick with the flu and has apparently cancelled for tomorrow's show. I also just got tickets for the show myself today and am still looking forward to the show.
  11. They are playing in San Francisco for NYE at the Bill Graham Civic Aud. That would be a fun show. Wish I could go.
  12. The Massey Hall show back in May put me to sleep. I chalked it up to not really knowing the new album, not recognizing the arrangements of songs from "Let It Die" and being at the back of the venue. Now that I've listened to the new album a lot and like it I am giving her another shot tonight but am now prepared for how mellow it will probably be.
  13. If you are thinking of going to one of the Stars shows in Toronto Nov 26-29 at the Phoenix you best be getting your tickets. Last night all four nights came up as being completely sold out on TM and we thought we had missed out. Rotate this shows one show as being sold out as of last friday and I don't know if they still have any left for the 3 other nights. Today I managed to pull tickets for Tuesday and Thursday on TM, so maybe some additional tickets were released (or TM online wasn't working right).
  14. In Hope there will be lots of candy, spices and tri-coloured pastas. http://www.albumrankings.com/showSong.php?song_id=897400
  15. We Went West - Rheostatics from night of the shooting stars
  16. I was confused by the Rick White Album name. I just got the new CD Memoreaper and the band name on the side is Rick White Album. Also that's how they were billed for the guelph show that i unfortunately had to miss. I really like Memoreaper. Some songs are quite psychedelic and at least one sounds like a ween wong.
  17. It seems that rotate this is now sold out of ween tickets for Oct 26 We picked some up last week and they still had a bunch but I guess they all sold.
  18. Bump I know a lot is going on in TO this weekend but I hope someone can use these.
  19. Phishtaper and I were just out for lunch in Hamilton and I picked up the new Stars CD "In Our Bedroom After The War" at Cheapies. It comes with a 55 min DVD and was only $14.99 but you can also get this combo for $10.47 at Amazon. On the Arts and Crafts website it says the release date is next week (Sept 25) but I guess it's already out. I've had the mp3s for a while and really like the CD although i can see why some might find it too poppy. I also saw these fall dates on their myspace page. 20. When I heard this news the other day I really found it hard to believe that CD prices will really go down at HMV. I mean a lot of the regularly priced CDs at HMV are 26.99 and up. I've never bought one at that price and probably wouldn't even if it was reduced by 20%. The only time I buy CDs now is usually the week of release when you can get them for $12.99.
  21. can someone please recommend a place where i can get one of these $500 macbooks we are about to buy a new laptop and if i can get a used/refurb for 500 i'd do it. thanks
  22. You can get them now on TM at 5:35. http://www.ticketmaster.ca/event/10003E97B5D4804C?artistid=1129918&majorcatid=10001&minorcatid=4 Good luck.
  23. Here is a link to the etree recording of the Toronto show. It's a matrix. http://bt.etree.org/details.php?id=507657&viewcomm=292151#comm292151 Thanks to the taper.
