i think this was my first time seeing him with them except for another late-night show they played on awhile ago (i've forgotten which)? (what i mean is, haven't seen the band live). i enjoyed the Shakedown, but it confirmed for me that i don't want to go out of my way to see this band. i agree with you edger that mayer is lacking something.
Someone was telling me that it was actually posted on Radiohead's website and then taken down... Did anyone see that, and if so, do you know which date on that weekend they are scheduled to play?
yes, we got a few bottles of it before Xmas. i don't really care about it either way, but i am not much of a straight whisky drinker (yet). we also got the Bulleit rye (which i hadn't seen before) and i quite like that one.
yes, the server and the flyer said $5 pints, and our bill said we had $5 pints too. they were NOT pints, just glasses. i didn't feel like complaining, but won't get fooled again!
i agree with everybody! i would give the music a C (average for Phish, which still means it was good) but the venue and experience an A. i really enjoyed the Ocean cover but i was quite hammered by that point!
after seeing the band so much, i always hope for something special music-wise but i know to never expect it. it can happen on any night in any place. and that's what keeps me coming back!
When you receive something by courier from the US to Canada, this type of customs brokerage (ie. bullshit!) fee can apply. I have had it happen many times and it always sucks. Phish is right that it doesn't have to do with them...it has to do with it being sent by courier. If you order things sent by USPS (which is then delivered by Canada post) then usually this doesn't happen, or you might just have to pay a small amount of tax. I have had to pay tax occasionally to Canada post but it is way less of a percentage than a courier charges.
If I am ordering something from the US I always ask them to send it by USPS not courier.
At least you are getting your stuff - Dry Goods is terrible about sending stuff on time and sending the correct order.
I'm sorry
