thanks i was on hold for ages so i posted here...finally got through and found the transaction did not go through, so i did it again. i'm a paypal newbie!

so, i went to buy something with paypal...but forgot i had account (which i must've created ages ago). so i put in my CC info and pay for the item. then it asks for email address. when i enter it it says there is an acct with that address. so i reset my password, update info and all that (it had an old CC). the thing is i'm not sure if the payment went through before all this. i don't think it did...

me too! i haven't been to a summer festival in the states FOREVER (over 7 years!)...i'm dyyyying to, miss it so much.

kinda... this is just personally but i have no problem if someone spends 250 on shoes...even several pairs. but if you've got 50 or 100 pairs of shoes at that price, it seems excessive to me. i know you are saying it's hard to draw a line there, i guess (ie. how many pairs is OK then?) so i'll just say that if it seems reasonable to you than it's OK. anyway i wouldn't feel bad if someone gave me such a gift. i think one nice thing about gifts is that people will buy you something nice that you wouldn't necessarily buy for yourself...which makes it special!

i think it's fine to spend however much you want on anything. it's just money. the amount i spend on shoes or jeans or concerts does NOT affect/take away from the amount i donate to charity. well...except that the more i earn, the more i'll spend on stuff, but also the more i'll donate. it works out. people give bono shit for spending 1000 on sunglasses, but i have no problem with that. it's part of his image, and he does more than enough to compensate. i don't see any ethical problem with spending money on quality stuff.

i posted about it earlier but i will again to specify that if you like cheese in your burger, try the infusion bistro on bank in the glebe. you can choose blue cheese, goats cheese, etc. and it's cooked inside the burger so you get cheesy goodness when you bite in. so good.

biscuits have a new drummer (for about a year). i guess they don't come here for the same reasons most other bands don't come here!

where does someone buy yummy beers in ottawa? is there a specialty store? i've been sorely disappointed with the beers that are sold out here (ie. beer store). it's so close to my house but i always end up with guinness. i can't drink lager. want some yummy microbrews...hoppy, dark, or smooth. where can i buy?

this last-minute stuff is bullshit. there's only puerto vallarta which is the one place we don't want to go. stayed home and wasted my friday night getting rejected a million times by all the websites. sigh... yes i know i'm whining! end rant...carry on.

yes everyone has to grieve, but where do you draw the line? as someone said, if we put a marker everywhere someone has ever died, there would be nothing but markers all over the place. it doesn't really make sense, does it? i really don't care if people leave stuff by the road, it doesn't distract me at all personally. but i just don't see that it makes all that much sense...esp. if it starts happening everywhere.
