july 6,7,8 any or all? i have tix for the 8th. thinking of going for all 3 since bluesfest lineup is not making me tingle. anybody else? looking at sorting out rides, lodging and such....

oh man i got lucky on that screen somehow. it said the card coudn't be verified, but then gave me the option to go back and choose another card. i did that but it wouldn't verify again. i went back and put in a new card which was Amex and didn't require verification. through all of that somehow the screens kept working and i didn't lose my order. lucky! stupid verifying

Velvet says: Doug and I will be playing tomorrow night at Irene's (Tuesday, April 24th), starting around 9:30. This is a one-off; we'll be there tomorrow night and then not again until who knows when? If you're a hockey person the only game happening tomorrow is Fla vs NJ, and it should be pretty much done by the time we start. In other (not unrelated) news, Heather and I embark on an African adventure soon. We leave for Namibia at the end of next week for a month - we'll be back in June. Tuesday will be a good opportunity to give us a hug and wish us luck, you can even buy Heather a beer or two! Anyways, hope to see some of you at the bar. If we don't see you Tuesday we look farward to crossing paths this summer!

We did it! Velvet: 30 min Phorbesie: 45 min Velvet did the ass-kicking I am sorry to say to my fans! After a fun night out at the Sisters and no sleep, the climb was harder than I thought it would be! Not pacing was a mistake and made the middle section very hard. Confession: I knew Velvet was going to win all along! Thanks SO MUCH to all who donated We raised $730 for the baby animals. Yay!

Levon Helm, Woodstock resident and drummer, the former leader of The Band, has died at age 71. Helm died at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York. "We lost Levon at 1:30 today surrounded by friends and family and his musicians have visited him," said Larry Campbell, Helm's longtime guitarist and band leader. "As sad as this was, it was very peaceful." Campbell, who has played with everyone from Bob Dylan to BB King, said his greatest honor was not only helping lead Helm's band, but knowing him. "What I'm most proud of is he called me his partner," Campbell said. "For me to arrive at a place like that with a great man like him is the ultimate."
